Role

Changeworks is going through a period of rapid growth as a result of its ambitious new strategy. Alongside the current climate and cost of living crises, our services are in high demand. Our Community Engagement and Energy Advice Services teams are on the frontline providing a range of services to support the public including energy advice, advocacy and support for people in fuel poverty and engagement activity across communities.

About the team

With the introduction of a new strategy, we have brought two teams together with over 25 staff and volunteers. We are developing a new way of working and have created this exciting new role to help things run smoothly and increase our efficiency. The role sits across both of our dedicated teams – Low Carbon Communities and Affordable Warmth Services.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Administrator to support the delivery of our services across both teams. This means you will be exposed to a variety of work and be involved in a range of different projects and activities.

Joining us means you become part of an exciting and innovative organisation that really cares about its employees.

About you

If you can provide effective, high quality organisational administrative support in a friendly and professional manner we’d love to hear from you.

You are a people person with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a love of planning and making things happen.

You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills to support the team and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will have good attention to detail and a willingness to carry out a wide range of tasks quickly and efficiently. You will have excellent IT skills and be experienced in using customer management databases. You will be committed to offering a first-class customer service experience and have excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. Working at the office but also from home, you will be self-motivated to deliver results and enjoy working as part of a team that offers strong peer support by multiple channels.

Benefits

Changeworks is a great place to work. We hold Investors in People Platinum accreditation (something only a few organisations in Scotland have), and we were nominated for employer of the year by the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce this year. Our staff overwhelmingly would recommend us as an employer too.

The Climate Emergency has resulted in ambitious national targets to reduce carbon emissions from the built environment and reduce rates of fuel poverty. This has driven a significant increase in the number of pilot and large-scale interventions delivered by Changeworks and external organisations in this area. These include area-based domestic energy efficiency retrofit and decarbonisation projects and programmes.

We are a growing organisation, and this role is crucial to the delivery of our ambitious objectives. We want to decarbonise homes in Scotland on a massive scale, and that needs talented individuals like you to help us deliver on our objectives. You’ll receive full training plus coaching and mentoring.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits including flexible working, bike to work scheme, an excellent pension scheme and 26 days paid holiday plus 9 public holidays per year.

At Changeworks, we welcome and encourage applications from everyone.
