Role

Connect Community Trust is a vibrant Development Trust and social enterprise based in Greater Easterhouse, Glasgow. This newly created post will add value to our existing income advice service and provide much-needed support to local people with fuel and energy advice.

We are continuing with the delivery of our ‘Cosy Homes Easterhouse’ project in partnership with Blairtummock, Provanhall and Gardeen Housing Associations plus wider community organisations.

Our objectives of the project are:

  • Deliver an energy advice and information service that helps reduce tenants bills
  • Support clients to understand their energy usage and costs
  • Identify inefficient and faulty appliances and have these replaced with new-efficient ones
  • Work with local partners (i.e. Home Energy Scotland and G.HEAT) to signpost customers to relevant and appropriate support
  • Build capacity and understanding of energy advice and information across staff members of the Housing Associations and Connect Community Trust

As Energy Adviser, you will be responsible for engaging with local residents and providing information, advice, support and assistance to minimise fuel costs. The energy advice and information service will cover, understanding fuel bills, using heating systems effectively, dealing with fuel debt, pre-payment meters, switching supplier, reading meters and smart meters. We will also provide tips on saving energy and ways to pay.

We are looking for someone with previous energy advice experience who has excellent motivational and organisational skills.
