We are recruiting a Volunteer Coordinator to promote volunteering for PAPYRUS across Scotland, and to recruit, engage and manage volunteers to support the work of the charity.

What you will do:

• Recruiting, training, supporting, engaging, and managing volunteers.
• Developing and maintaining partnership in local communities to enable and enhance our
• volunteer programme.
• Meeting with volunteers regularly on a one to one and groups setting to review their roles
• and encourage engagement.
• Maintaining accurate records for all volunteers in compliance with GDPR and reporting to
• the Area Manger on impact of our volunteering.
• Completing exit interviews with volunteers and ensuring feedback is implemented back into
• the PAPYRUS teams.
• Working with other Volunteer Coordinators across the charity to review, develop and
• implement best practice within our programme.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Proven experience of recruiting, supporting, engaging, and managing volunteers.
• Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training
• sessions, leading workshops, or educational activities.
• Ability to accurately record and manage data and report to on outcomes to deadlines.
• Ability to travel to different locations within Scotland to attend meetings and

We are looking to recruit two Community Development Officers in Aberdeen, to engage key partners and stakeholders in the region tailoring support, training, and education to create suicide safer communities.

What you will do:

• Identify, develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide.
• Proactively promote suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.
• Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training, and education.
• Deliver training and awareness raising products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers, and other trainers.
• Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the strategic plan.
• Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans.
• Represent the charity at events including conferences, panels, working groups and through media channels as required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops, or educational activities.
• A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience.
• Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience.
• Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme, or area of work.
• The ability to travel to different locations across Scotland and the wider UK to attend meetings, events and deliver training.

For over 140 years, St Andrew’s First Aid has been teaching first aid to the people of Scotland. We are a trusted organisation, built into the fabric of national life, and are standard setters in first aid.

We are working in partnerships to identify and deliver unique projects to promote and improve first aid knowledge and skills throughout Scotland. Our aim is to encourage local communities to become active stakeholders in learning first aid skills. We are seeking to recruit a motivated individual to deliver our Community Engagement Strategy. The post holder will work with new and existing community groups, schools and organisations throughout Scotland and maintain relationships with the wider local community.

This role will involve liaison and consultation with and delivery of talks, demonstrations and training sessions for a very diverse range of community-based interests. This will include designing and facilitating workshops, organising meetings, events and activities with organisations and groups, e.g. small volunteer led community groups, public sector agencies, schools, local networks and volunteers); general administrative support, e.g. grant funders monitoring and reporting requirements as well as close collaboration with partners in order to promote the delivery of first aid skills and knowledge. You will also be responsible for raising awareness of St Andrew’s First Aid.

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

• have experience in delivering first aid and/or mental health first aid sessions

• show practical and successful experience of delivering and implementing new services and approaches to volunteers;

• have excellent organisational, planning and facilitation skills

• coach and support those managing, supervising and working alongside volunteers and community partners.

The role will be based at our training centre which is located nearest to your home address, but will require travel to other areas.
