About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, organised and community-minded Green Spaces Officer to support volunteers across our network of community gardens. This role will help people to take part in outdoor activities that improve wellbeing, increase confidence, and strengthen social connection.

Working closely with Garden Leaders and volunteer teams, the Green Spaces Officer will help ensure our gardens are safe, welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone can participate—particularly individuals facing disadvantage, isolation, or poor mental health.

Key Responsibilities

• Support volunteers to participate in garden sessions in inclusive, safe, positive ways
• Provide 1:1 support where needed, helping individuals to build confidence and skills
• Organise small group activities such as nature walks, seasonal tasks, wellbeing sessions, and gentle gardening
• Work with staff and volunteers to ensure gardens remain welcoming, accessible community spaces
• Help volunteers to set goals, reflect on progress, and engage fully in community life
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and volunteer feedback
• Support the development of wellbeing-focused initiatives within garden settings
• Liaise with referring partners (e.g. mental health teams, housing associations, support workers)

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What you’ll do

As Day Services Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing high quality, therapeutic registered day services and commissioned and non-commissioned community supports for people with dementia, those at greater risk of dementia, and their families, and carers within the area.

You will be responsible for ensuring that services are of the highest quality, meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support. There is also the responsibility for ensuring that our commissioned services meet all service level agreement, contract specifications and Alzheimer Scotland’s quality guarantees.

You will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the services within the area and will be responsible for promoting the services with key local stakeholders within Health and Social Care as well as relevant other organisations. As Day Services Manager you will manage the referral and assessment process.

You will work collaboratively with the Head of Services to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred therapeutic day services, ensuring practice complies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will be responsible for evidencing, reviewing and continually improving the quality of the services and will proactively participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorate inspections. This will includeevidencing that services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’s Health and Social Care standards and other quality frameworks including those of the Care Inspectorate where relevant. Community Energy Scotland is recruiting for a Senior Technical Officer with experience of all aspects of technical project delivery, including scoping of technical work, writing bids and tenders, managing client relationships, overseeing and providing expert input into technical content creation, and delivering outputs on time and to budget.
