Role

Inspiring Young Voices is a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) which exists to inspire and be inspired by the voices of children and young people in Highland facing challenges in their lives. We seek to ensure that these voices are raised, heard and acted upon. We will advocate for changes in policy and practice across Highland which support and promote the meaningful participation of children and young people at every level of decision making.

The new post of Chief Officer was created in 2022 at a time of change and growth for Inspiring Young Voices. The current incumbent has led the organisation through many changes and has strengthened and consolidated its staff team, its programme of work and its relationships with external partners and stakeholders. This has included playing a key role in the development and drafting of the Highland Community Planning Partnership’s new Integrated Children’s Service Plan (ICSP) 2023-2026.

There is now an exciting opportunity for a new Chief Officer to lead our charity through the next stage in its evolution and build on the work of their predecessor to consolidate our charity’s position in public policy and practice, including support for the implementation of the ICSP.

The key tasks of the Chief Officer are to lead, manage, develop and review the work of Inspiring Young Voices in line with the charity’s strategic plan and brand proposition. They will support the Board and any working groups to ensure they are able to fulfil their responsibilities. They will also represent and be the voice of the charity with stakeholders and partners.
