Accountable to: Practice Development Lead

Critical Role elements of the Practice Development Manager

To support the organisation in embedding a modern, evidence informed approach to social care practice

Combine a thorough knowledge of social care practice and processes with capable collaboration, to ensure that the services we provide to People and to commissioners is nationally respected

Work with Managers and staff teams to develop modern, effective and evidence informed ways of working, policies and procedures

Coordinate and organise training sessions, workshops and reflective practice activities to our teams, ensuring they are well supported to develop as practitioners and managers

Work with colleagues across the organisation to respond to business development opportunities

Ensure the organisation is linked into national and international networks, forum and research on specific areas of social care practice

Commitment to the development of your learning and practice to a high level of expertise

Service Responsibilities

Work with Service Managers and Project Sponsors to continuously develop services and ways of working, with an active ambition to achieve ‘excellent’ rated services by regulatory bodies and by the People We Support

Provide critical problem solving, creativity and a multi-disciplinary approach to change and delivery

Contribute to our services progress against their agreed business plans, including evaluating work and supporting with the implementation of changes to improve results

Support colleagues within Digital, Services and Practice Development to design, develop and implement frameworks for quality assurance and monitoring, trend analysis and reporting

Ensure Risk Management and Incident Management protocols are appropriate for services and constantly reviewed

Recognise change as an integral part of the delivery of support and personal care and implement thoughtfully

Participation and Integration

Develop participatory methods to enable the opportunity for People We Support to be involved in the overview, development, and evaluation of their Service

Play an active role in opportunities with partner agencies ensuring flexible, local solutions are driven by the needs and priorities of the People We Support and their communities

Joint Working

Support the development of constructive relationships with national and local statutory, voluntary and community agencies to ensure appropriate resources, support and understanding of the service.

Person Specification

Education and/or Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • SCQF Level 8 qualification in social care or a related field

Desirable

  • SCQF Level 9 qualification in management and leadership, business administration or in a related field such as risk, health and safety
  • Qualification in mentoring and coaching
  • Qualification in teaching or training

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Experience as a practitioner within social care or related field.
  • Ability to work with a range of stakeholders internally and externally and facilitate collaborative development activity.
  • Understanding of local and national policy frameworks and how they integrate with service delivery.
  • Experience of involvement in change management within services.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in achieving and improving service outcomes
  • Experience in a learning or teaching environment
  • Experience undertaking quality audits or in a quality assurance role
  • Driving Licence and access to a car.
