Barnardo's Together for Positive Change (BTFPC) is recruiting

Barnardo's Together for Positive Change (BTFPC) -

BTFPC was established in July 2020 as part of an intensive family support model which was piloted across Scotland to tackle intergenerational poverty. The focus was to identify and remove barriers to training and work and promote attainment in those families deemed at most risk. BTFPC is a collaborative partnership with Capital City Partnership and Midlothian with key stakeholders being the Early Intervention and Prevention service and Community Lifelong Learning.

  • The Project Worker 2 will working intensively with families to assess needs and risks, to design and deliver bespoke packages of support to address these complex needs and promote lasting change
  • BTFPC aims to address the identified needs of families with children under 16, who face multiple barriers/challenges to moving out of poverty and provide an offer of holistic whole family support
  • Where appropriate, we will encourage and support individual progression including through our partnership with Midlothian Council's Communities, Lifelong Learning and Employability teams
  • Support is designed with families to achieve agreed goals following assessment and is time limited to ensure support is effective and families are empowered to maintain changes when support ends. Interventions include parenting sessions, whole family sessions, 1:1 sessions and group work

Child and Family Workers will work in partnership with a range of other agencies to coordinate strategies to meet the needs of service users. Including, but not limited to: Schools; Children and Family Social Worker; Parental employability service; Community Lifelong learning; Homelink; Y2K; Housing; CAB. They will participate in formal multi-agency planning meetings and reflect the views and wishes of service users in all planning.
