Change Mental Health is a leading national mental health charity providing unique support to people with severe and enduring mental ill health. We are looking to build a talented cohort of dedicated Training Associates to deliver quality programmes across Scotland. If you’re keen to help us reach our ambitious targets to support thousands more young people in schools and community settings, are passionate about young people’s mental health and have a wealth of training and facilitation experience, we’d love to hear from you.
Who are we looking for?
- You have experience in delivering training, preferably to young people inside a school, college, or community setting.
- Experience in delivering virtually and face to face
- You are a confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills.
- You have experience of training other professionals from different backgrounds.
- You have experience of working with young people affected by mental illness.
- You have a clear understanding of the connection between mental health and wellbeing and the ability to cope with life’s stressors
- You have a clear understanding of the stressors and barriers that young people face, that may negatively impact their mental health.
- You have experience in project implementation, ongoing delivery, managing resources and evaluation.
- You have experience in forging and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- You have the ability to work in a flexible and autonomous manner
- You have good IT skills, including competent use of Microsoft Office and online training platforms.
- Access to your own equipment to deliver training such as laptop, printer and projector.
- A driving license and access to use of a vehicle
What will you be doing?
- Delivering our Young People’s programmes in schools and community settings.
- Communicating and coordinating activities with the setting including start dates, times and other logistics such as compliance with safeguarding procedures, etc.
- Delivering the programmes either face-to-face inside the setting or via their preferred online platform – e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Google Meets.
- Supporting the relevant setting in delivering the programme and training the designated staff, teachers or youth workers in the content.
- Working closely with the designated staff to co-deliver the 7 one-hour workshops.
- Mentoring throughout delivery period, providing teachers and youth workers with the support they need to deliver it on their own.
- Ensuring that the necessary monitoring, evaluation and mechanisms are adhered to.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Midlothian Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Team as a Development Worker.
Midlothian Access Point is dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of individuals aged 18 to 65 who are registered with a GP in Midlothian. We provide a range of services including information, advice, referrals, and support to help our clients access the resources they need.
Within this role, you will be responsible for delivering individual assessments for the Midlothian Access Point. You will be required to deliver a set amount of individual assessments each week either in person, telephone or online.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for facilitating, developing, and delivering Guided Self Help sessions. Guided Self-Help is a one-to-one support service that guides people to access self-help materials. Sessions are delivered in person, online or over the phone. The service is based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Counselling (IPC) and is for anyone aged 18 and over experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression, stress or sleep problems.
They will work collaboratively with communities to provide tailored support, connect individuals to appropriate resources, and maintain a compassionate, trauma-informed approach to meet the needs of vulnerable groups.

We have an exciting leadership opportunity to join our South Services team as the Team Leader for the Scottish Borders Community Mental Health Team and the Midlothian Recovery and Justice Team. Within this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day delivery of our community mental health and wellbeing services.
You should have experience in; leading and managing services, staff leadership and development, supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing, working as part of a team, meeting funding targets, data analysis and reporting.

Health in Mind offers a range of counselling services. We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Counsellor with over 1 year of post-qualified experience, and experience of working with people who have experienced trauma, to join our team in a self-employed capacity. You will provide face-to-face and online one-to-one counselling individuals facing a range of emotional and psychological challenges across our five counselling services.
Requirements:
- Recognised counselling qualification (Diploma or Masters Level)
- 1+ year of post-qualified experience
- Registration with COSCA, NCPS, BACP, UKCP, HCPC or other relevant professional body
- Experience working with diverse client groups, including people who have experienced trauma
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

About the Role
As a Counselling Lead, you will manage the Counselling Support team and the service alongside the Head of Services. You will oversee the day-to-day running of the services whilst being responsible for managing all stakeholders involved.
You will also report on outcomes achieved and help promote and develop the services in your region. A skilled practitioner, you will have a good understanding and knowledge of counselling services and an understanding of the health and social care landscape. An empathic and motivating manager, you will be able to bring out the best in others by developing, guiding and supporting your team and enabling them to provide high-quality, person-centred counselling and support services.
The Counselling Lead will be responsible for line-managing and supervising staff and consultants who deliver specialist counselling support people affected by mental health issues, as well as their own caseload. This role includes developing and implementing an induction programme for counsellor roles, carrying out safe recruitment and providing high quality therapeutic support. The post-holder will take a trauma-informed approach and build a supportive and reflective culture, in line with Change Mental Health values. The Counselling Lead will work alongside both the local and national management team to contribute to the operational and strategic leadership of the local service, and of the overarching counselling programme that Change Mental Health are committed to developing.
