Director/Trustee to Council of the Iona Community

Who are we?

The Iona Community is an international, ecumenical Christian movement working for justice and peace, the rebuilding of community and the renewal of worship.

Call for a Director/Trustee replacement.

To preserve the future of our organisation we need to provide leadership opportunities for our young adults, to give them a voice in how we develop to face the challenges of the future and to keep our messaging relevant to the needs of society. In order to achieve this we have agreed to reserve two spaces on Council for people aged between 18 and 30. These roles are not about representing young people but are an opportunity to bring a much-needed diversity of perspective to our decision-making process.

Is this for you?

This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic, motivated Council who are integral to working with the leadership and staff in shaping and delivering the vison and values of the Iona Community. If you think we could be doing things differently we are keen to hear your voice, please read more about the role and if you’re interested, apply. The Iona Community really wants to hear from you. For more about the Iona Community please visit our website.

The Iona Community is committed to ensuring that equality, diversity and inclusivity is part of the organisation, reflecting the equality, justice and belonging which it wants all people to feel in the world. The more diverse its Council and workforce, the better its able to respond to, bring new perspectives to and tackle the challenges it faces in delivering the purposes of the Community.

We are looking to help you unlock your potential and for you to help us unlock ours. Training and mentoring will be provided to support you in this important role as you help guide the future of The Iona Community.

The Iona Community welcomes applications from everyone committed to its purposes regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or disability. All appointments will be made on merit, following a fair and transparent process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, however, the Iona Community may employ positive action where candidates from underrepresented groups can demonstrate their ability to perform the role equally well.
