Role

Key and Community Lifestyles work alongside disabled people and significant others in their lives to help them lead full and active lives in their own homes and communities. We are also a Registered Social Landlord.

We are seeking to fill this crucial post of Health and Safety Lead, who will work closely with senior managers predominantly within our support services, but also those with responsibility for Learning and Development, Housing and Human Resources.

Given the significant focus on support services you will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in social care, ideally in a Health and Safety focused role or in a supervisory/management position with real knowledge of both health and safety challenges and solutions within the sector. You’ll understand the complexities of balancing individuals taking risks and our health and safety responsibilities as a support organisation and employer.

You will lead on the continual development of Health and Safety practice, policies and resources, ensuring they reflect changing legislation, best practice and organisational approaches to service delivery. This requires you to have excellent communication skills, able to engage with and create resources for staff and managers across Key and Community Lifestyles.

As this is an exciting new post, which will be shaped through natural development and organisational learning, we recognise that interested parties meeting the above may not have necessary qualifications and professional membership. We therefore welcome applicants with a relevant existing Health and Safety knowledge, qualification and experience who are committed and will be supported to achieve this.
