Clydebank Women’s Aid has been providing a service to women, children, and young people experiencing domestic abuse since 1981. We are a small group of passionate and committed feminists who work collectively to deliver a high-quality service to the women, children, and young people that we work with.

This is a rare opportunity to work in one of Scotland’s few remaining, genuine collectives, challenging male violence against women, children and young people and supporting them in their experiences of domestic abuse. You will be working within a Collective Management structure while also providing the essential face to face support.

Children & Young Persons Worker / Collective Manager

For this varied and interesting role, we are looking for a woman who can lead our children and young person’s service. The applicant should have a past record of working creatively and independently and will ideally have been involved in setting up and delivering a similar service. You will also have Collective Management duties and responsibilities. You should be passionate about feminism and women’s and children’s rights and have an ability to be adaptable and compassionate in your workplace in line with Clydebank Women’s Aid ethos.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Children & Young Person’s Support Worker/ Collective Manager your core responsibility will be to deliver one to one and group work support within refuge and on an outreach basis in local schools/ community venues to children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.

You will also be responsible for the overall project management of the service alongside the other collective members. As part of your collective responsibilities, you will provide support to women who are experiencing domestic abuse living in refuge, using our drop-in service, or phoning for support.
