The purpose of this role is to lead and develop the DBI project, based in Inverness and extending across the Highland Area, to develop the DBI Partnership and to manage all resources associated with the project. Leading and managing a large team of Seniors and Co-ordinators towards meeting service needs and excellent outcomes. Working closely with the National Project Manager for support, reporting and training needs. Overseeing the needs of the service on a day to day basis which requires an adaptive and solution focussed approach. Development of the DBI Service is key to the success of this role, working closely with Stakeholders and other relevant partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational:

  • Managing the Inverness project staff team and other resources, including the NHS24 Highland Pathway
  • Embedding the importance of Connected, Compassionate support throughout the staff team
  • Supporting the local Partnership Group by facilitating a shared approach, sharing good practice and developing joint protocols and processes
  • Raising awareness of the Distress Brief Intervention across the area through close partnership working.
  • Rolling out Level 2 staff training in conjunction with DBI training partners and National DBI Manager
  • Keeping statistics and records for monitoring and evaluation purposes
  • Reporting to the Area Manager and the DBI Partnership Group and Board as necessary
  • Ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken for people who require support beyond their engagement with the DBI project, in line with safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Providing training, line management and supervision to the DBI senior staff team
  • Other tasks relevant to the development of the DBI

Developmental:

  • Support staff team to identify and liaise with service user groups, advocacy groups and other groups who have contact with people who find themselves in distress.
  • Support staff team to Identify and liaise with agencies that can deliver community support.
  • Developing new pathways in partnership with the DBI Central team
  • Raising awareness of the importance of seeking help if experiencing distress
  • Working with others to challenge stigma and promote good mental health and wellbeing
