Role

About Us:

FEL is changing our world for the better, project by project. We show people how to make everyday changes that help them, their communities and the planet thrive. Our approach is grounded and practical and our projects are built on local knowledge, delivered with our sleeves rolled up. We are a creative and influential bunch, working in a collaborative and connected way, supporting our communities and partners by generating ideas and sharing our knowledge. As an organisation, we make good things happen, and our projects are taken seriously because they deliver what they promise

Our aim is to make the environment meaningful by making it personal. We want people to believe in the power of our projects; to engage and benefit from what we do locally and to share in each project’s success. Put simply; we live here too, so we know what people have and what they need.

Job Purpose:

Working as part of the FEL team, you will work within Larbert High School, Falkirk. This exciting new role will expand FEL’s successful secondary school Active Travel Hub programme. You will work closely with school staff and pupils to develop and deliver a programme of activities with the aim of increasing everyday cycling, walking and wheeling journeys across the school and to support social and environmental change at a community level.

We want to encourage people to live more climate friendly and healthier lifestyles. You will be an ambassador for active travel. You will develop and deliver ‘in school’ educational programmes and community outreach activities which will engage, encourage and support pupils to consider more environmentally friendly and physically active modes of transport, contributing to health, education and attainment outcomes. This will include delivering led rides and walks, events, competitions and bike repair workshops.

You will become part of a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic team and will enjoy the benefits of joining a flexible, adaptable and ambitious workplace that puts people at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about sustainable travel
  • Is passionate about working with people
  • Wants to make a difference
