Role
Thenue Housing is a Registered Social Landlord and charity owning just over 3000 properties and provides a factoring service to a further 800 owner/occupiers. Our properties are located in Glasgow in the following areas, Bridgeton, Calton, Cranhill, Castlemilk, Dalmarnock, Scotstoun, Baillieston and Blackhill.
We are committed to delivering quality and affordable homes with excellent customer service….improving homes, lives and communities. The Board is responsible for running the Association’s affairs and plays an important role in developing our various communities. It provides strategic leadership, sets objectives, exercises scrutiny and monitors and evaluates the organisation’s business in order to deliver continued improvements for our customers.
We wish to recruit 2 new Board Members and are seeking dynamic, highly motivated, and innovative individuals. We are particularly keen to hear from people with skills, knowledge and experience as follows:
- Financial Management– with a Board member with significant experience in this area coming to the end of their term in September 2024, now is the right time to seek to recruit in this area so there is a true succession for the Board.
- Governance- good governance is at heart of our organisation, and we seek to recruit an individual that can strengthen us further in this area into the future.
Diverse Boards are vital to our ongoing success and we particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups. There are generally 10 meetings a year including our Business Planning Event. Remote access to the meetings is available, but there is an expectation to attend some of these meetings in person during the year.
This role is voluntary and unpaid with reasonable out of pocket expenses being paid. Support will be given in the role through ongoing training, development and mentoring.

With strong roots as a community-based association, Maryhill Housing has grown dramatically in recent years with the transfer of over 2,000 homes from Glasgow Housing Association. With a £13m turnover and around 95 staff, we manage 3,100 tenanted homes and provide a factoring service to a further 700 owners. We have a broad range of housing including tenements, retirement housing for older people, high-rise apartments, and modern canal-side homes. We are also embarking on a new development programme and are currently on-site building 80 new homes.
We currently have vacancies on our Board of Management and are looking for people who share our purpose, vision, and values and who are passionate about providing high quality services and housing, at affordable process, to our customers. In addition to the full Board, we also actively seeking people who would like to join our Audit & Risk Committee. The key responsibilities of this sub-group are to look in more details at finance, internal and external audit, performance, and risk.
This is not a paid position, however, all expenses associated with the role will be reimbursed. Previous board experience is not necessary as support and training will be provided. We feel passionate that our Board of Management should be truly representative of the people it services. Given the nature of our work, we are keen to add more voices with lived experience to the Board and are therefore encouraging applicants from all ages and backgrounds, especially those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.

The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced business or corporate services leader to join a diverse and growing organisation, to lead and develop business services which are the heartbeat of everything that Link Group does.
As part of a close-knit executive leadership team, you will assume responsibility for the creation and implementation of the group corporate services strategy and will be accountable to the main board for overall service delivery.
You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of governance, group compliance with all necessary regulatory and statutory obligations, and driving best in class financial, HR, and ICT service levels across all Partner organisations within the group. The post is a critical piece of the group infrastructure, and the role holder is charged with ensuring that the Link Group vision, values, strategic objectives are delivered through the provision of high-quality services benefiting tenants and service users.

The Successful Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will be an experienced executive leader with a breadth of knowledge across corporate functions in a complex or group structure.
The successful candidate will possess most of the following:
- You will be a proven leader with sound financial and commercial business acumen, experience of strategic planning and delivery of those objectives.
- Proven experience of delivering high quality professional and customer orientated corporate services
- You will be an experienced leader with previous involvement in Board or Management Committees.
- You will possess an understanding of the impact of political factors on Link Group and its partner organisations
- First class communication skills, you will build high trust relationships quickly, with the ability to negotiate in difficult situations
- Previous experience of budget preparation including setting, monitoring and financial forecasting
- Membership of a relevant professional body

With Kids
We are looking for motivated people from all backgrounds who share our values and are excited about how our services can change lives. Our Trustees are responsible for the governance of our charity, making sure that everything runs smoothly and that we are making the biggest difference we possibly can.
With Kids is a Scotland-wide children’s mental health charity and provides an early intervention therapeutic service working with primary and nursery aged children who have experienced trauma, and their families. This includes individual therapeutic support for children, helping them build the personal skills and resilience to cope, alongside practical and emotional support to their parents/carers with a view to building networks of support.
We specialise in the provision of Play Therapy, employing Play, Art and Speech and Language Therapists and Community and Family Support Workers. Much of our work is based in schools or around a particular community. We run a Masters course in Play Therapy in collaboration with Queen Margaret University and we deliver a variety of highly regarded CPD trainings for other professions.
You need passion for our cause, a commitment to sharing your ideas and experiences, and the time to attend and prepare for Board meetings. We need people to bring diverse experiences, to think creatively, challenge the status quo, and have a strategic mindset.
