Council Members – Strathcarron Hospice
Strathcarron Hospice is currently looking for a qualified accountant to join its Council of Management. Council members are trustees and unpaid directors who give up their free time to support a cause they believe in. Council members have no direct management responsibilities but they set the overall strategic direction and ensure that we work within the objectives of the charity, as laid out in our governing documents.
Council meets in the evening (Monday); four times a year and as qualified accountant you would also join our Audit Committee which meets three times a year and also our Investment Committee which meets twice a year, both meetings being approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Council members provide advice and scrutiny through their participation in these meetings.
Responsible to:Council of Management, Strathcarron Hospice
Time Commitment:
4 x Council of Management meetings per year
1 x Annual General Meeting per year
3 x Audit Committee meetings per year
2 x Investment Committee meetings per year
Meetings are held in person at Stathcarron Hospice, with remote attendance available.
Terms of Office:Trustees are appointed for a 4-year term of office, with renewal for a
further 4-year term to a maximum of 8 years.
Start Date: The appointee is expected to take up post as soon as possible and will be a co-opted member of Council before being formally elected to Council of Management at the Annual General Meeting.
