Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for supporting people living with dementia to achieve good outcomes using a range of therapeutic interventions, resources and activities as appropriate. Working as part of the Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections team you will have responsibility for ensuring that services are of the highest quality and meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support.
You will work with the wider team and Day Services Manager to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred, therapeutic Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections, ensuring practice complies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will contribute to evidencing, reviewing and continually improving the quality of the services and will participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorate inspections.
You may operate within a building-based Day Care or as part of a Community Connection team delivering Community Groups and Outreach services across an allocated area. At times, this will involve working without supervision in the absence of the Day Services Manager.
You will work with the wider team to evidence that services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’s Health and Social Care standards and other quality frameworks including those of the Care Inspectorate where relevant. This includes ensuring that the activities and support offered meet the identified personal outcomes of those attending the services.
What you’ll have
The successful candidate will have a good understanding and/or experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families. This will include an understanding of the benefit of high quality, evidence based therapeutic activity, ongoing evaluation, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice and the Care Inspectorate and their role in registered services.
Understanding and knowledge of dementia, mild cognitive impairment and Brain Health and experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families.
This position requires applicants to be registered with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). Successful candidates are expected to hold a professional qualification in health, social work or related field equivalent to SCQF Level 6 (SVQ 2).
Full driving license and access to a vehicle during working time is essential for this post.

About the Project / Service
Change Mental Health is determined to deliver excellent services and support across Northern Scotland and we need a Head of Services to help us to achieve this. This role will ensure that our services are delivered to a high standard, and that they are developed both operationally and strategically. About the Role:The Client Services Co-ordinator role will support and improve client services across Cruse Scotland. The post-holder will work closely with the Director of Client Services; our 4 geographical area teams; and our helpline team. Key tasks of the role will include: ongoing co-ordination of client waiting lists; talking with bereaved clients and referrers to advise of all options available; data management and input; and supporting the implementation of changes, where new processes are identified
Areas that we are currently exploring changes within include: reviewing and improving client pathway to support National & local processes, changes to telephony and improvements to client administration systems. It would be expected that the post-holder would play a key part in reviewing and supporting the implementation of these.
Given the nature of the work, ongoing training and supervision is provided.

The staff team comprise a mix of roles and talents, which include the co-ordination of client services, management and training of volunteers, income generation and governance of the charity. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Fife to achieve the right outcomes for those we’re supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.

West Lothian Drug and Alcohol Service is a well-established 3rd sector organisation with a history and reputation for delivering a wide range of effective early interventions and psychological therapies around alcohol and drugs throughout West Lothian as well as providing Young Peoples Services and a Family Support Service.

This is a fixed term post until 31 March 2026 with the possibility of extension, funded through the West Lothian Whole Family Approach Public Social Partnership and The Robertson Trust. The role will mainly involve face to face 1 to 1 working, with some group work interventions across West Lothian in a range of settings. Some evening work and weekend work may be required from time to time.

About Aberlour Options Fife - Residential Glenrothes
At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. As such, our service in Glenrothes supports young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.
Our service is home to 3 young people, aged 14 plus. Our rota has been drafted to suit the needs of the young people. Our night shifts operate from 10pm to 8am. You will work a rolling rota consisting of 3 to 4 nights per contracted hours. More details can be discussed at interview.

If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like to hear from you. Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.
