Our Housing Support service offers accommodation and support to individuals who have registered as homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless within Edinburgh.
We are looking for a support worker to deliver Housing Support to individuals across Edinburgh. You will have a proven record as a team player with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a ‘Housing Support Worker’ is desirable coupled with experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people.

What You’ll Do

VisionPK is a small charity offering support and services to people in Perth & Kinross who have sight or hearing loss.
We want to recruit an experienced Worker to develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate our new ‘Listen Up’ project, an ongoing programme of group activities, learning and support for people with hearing loss.
With at least 2 years community development experience, your experience will include working with older people, setting up and facilitating groups, recruiting and managing volunteers and using a strengths-based approach to your work. Equate Scotland is a national expert policy, research, development, and advocacy organisation, with a focus on women’s under-representation within the science, engineering, technology, and the built environment industries. We are hosted by Edinburgh Napier University and are based at the Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart campus.

The Opportunity
