We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and social care practice assessor to join our national Learning and Development team.

As SVQ Internal Verifier/Assessor, you will work remotely within our internal SQA Approved Centre, which was awarded “high confidence” from SQA and “outstanding” feedback in our latest external verifications. You will support our staff in services in the north of Scotland to gain their qualifications in SVQ Level 2, 3 or 4 Social Services and Healthcare.

You’ll lead candidates through their induction onto their qualification, plan assessments, provide learner support and assess holistically. You’ll be passionate about learning and experienced in offering additional learner support to suit a variety of learning styles and abilities. You will have strong organisational and communication skill be comfortable and confident in the use of online tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom and MS Office.

We support candidates to complete most of their awards remotely via e-portfolio, but travel is required for direct observations and to support candidates. Flexibility and willingness to travel are essential to the role, which involves a combination of remote home-based working and travel to our services/office locations within the region.

You must have a valid UK driving licence and access to your own car.

The post requires you to have a care qualification at SVQ Level 3, or equivalent, and an SVQ assessor`s award. You will have the qualifications to assess and internally verify awards at this level, or the experience and commitment to achieve this within 12 months.

Govan Community Project is a community based organisation who primarily support individuals and families in the asylum and refugee community and we are looking for a Bike Library Coordinator to join our team.

The bike library aims to support members of the Mossheights community to experience the positive benefits of cycling. The project provides access to bikes through a lending scheme and organises cycling activities to promote engagement, physical and mental wellbeing, and community cohesion.

Your role will be to maintain and develop our bike library project in Moss Heights and to be primarily responsible for its operation. You will also deliver activities to promote community engagement with the project.

Our ideal candidate will be a very confident cyclist, including being highly proficient in road cycling and road safety, with a working knowledge of bike maintenance. You will be comfortable delivering activities within a diverse community, and communicating and supporting individuals where there may be language barriers. You should also have excellent organisational and record keeping skills.

Community InfoSource (CIS) is looking for a key person with a passion for working to enable asylum seekers and refugees to know and secure their housing rights and have access to safe and dignified housing. The person should have experience of project management, people management, fundraising, budgeting and project financial monitoring, as well as knowledge of and experience of working with asylum seekers within the UK asylum system. The person should be committed to a human rights ethos and to CIS’s values.

We will guarantee an interview to anyone with lived experience of the asylum system who fulfils the essential criteria of the person specification.

The aim of this post is to coordinate and manage the successful delivery and development of CIS’s Women and Asylum Seeker Housing project, including ensuring project planning, staff, fundraising and budget management, coordinating team delivery and team meetings, and supporting the fundraising and sustainability of the project.

Community InfoSource has secured funding from Glasgow City Council’s Communities Fund and from The Robertson Trust, for this post. The post is for 21 hours a week for 18 months from March 2023 and thereafter subject to further successful fundraising.

ACE IT Scotland exists to advance the knowledge and connectivity of people over-50 in Edinburgh. Through digital skills coaching projects delivered across Edinburgh to improve the wellbeing, independence and active involvement of older people.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and caring person to help develop and oversee our outreach work throughout Edinburgh.

We have a team of dedicated, trained volunteers to work with older people across our projects. Your job is to work along with our existing two outreach workers and the wider team to ensure that projects run smoothly and that volunteers are supported to deliver the highest standard of service to our learners.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support volunteers working in ACE IT outreach projects within partner locations across Edinburgh and Midlothian and at the ACE IT office.
  • Work with the Development Coordinator, Manager and other staff to identify opportunities for improvement and growth across our services.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on our outreach projects, to include; - compiling weekly reports from feedback forms on outreach activities, monitoring attendance and creating case studies to give an understanding of the impact our services are having on the learner and what lessons can be learned
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to optimise the number of learners accessing our services.
  • Keep an inventory of all equipment and troubleshoot any equipment problems.
  • Undertake any appropriate tasks delegated by ACE IT Scotland Manager.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Good IT skills, including demonstrable experience of MS Teams, Office and knowledge of Apple and Android systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills. You must be good with people, patient and compassionate.
  • Experience and understanding of older people’s needs, including those who have dementia and other vulnerabilities plus the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding.
