Who Cares? Scotland is Scotland’s only national independent membership organisation for Care Experienced people. Our mission is to secure a lifetime of equality, respect, and love for Care Experienced people in Scotland and we currently have over 3000 Care Experienced members.
At the heart of Who Cares? Scotland’s work are the rights of Care Experienced children and young people, and the power of their voices to bring about positive change. We provide individual relationship-based independent advocacy and a broad range of imaginative participatory opportunity for Care Experienced young people across Scotland; we work alongside corporate parents and communities of all sorts to broaden understanding; we work with policy makers, leaders and elected representatives locally and nationally to shape law, policy and practice on the basis of all that can be learnt from the voices of those with experience of care - working together to build on the aspirations of The Promise and secure positive change.
Advocacy and Participation Workers work directly with children and young people with experience of care primarily in an individual advocacy role. This means we listen to what they say and support them to ensure their voices are truly heard regarding the decisions which are being made about their lives.
We also facilitate a very broad range of participatory and engagement opportunities and create the conditions for collective advocacy. This often brings young people together, allowing them to develop confidence, a sense of belonging and the opportunity to identify common issues. We ensure their voices are heard by care corporate parents and communities, creating positive change.
You will be skilled at developing positive relationships with children and young people. The post holder will place young people at the heart of everything they do, helping them live a positive life now and to reach their full potential in the future.

About the role
As a Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for one-to-one support including carrying a case load for on-going work with specific individuals and for developing and reviewing personal support plans. You will work autonomously being able to judge when to refer to your Manager, and taking a lead role in developing the service.
You will work closely with practitioners in a guidance and/or support and supervision role to promote good working practice and staff development. You will ensure that the resource centre provides a safe environment where people can relax, re-establish social skills and enhance quality of life. This is a role which promotes development as well as providing on-going support.
You will support the Locality Manager, Service Manager and Head of Services in their roles to meet national and funder criteria. You will identify gaps in the service where they arise and implement solutions in partnership with your line manager.

About Us
Women on Wheels Scotland is a Community cycling hub for women. It is a service designed and led by women, delivering a range of cycling activities to get women back on a bike, or on to a bike for the first time, and to nurture the peer support and community connectedness that is helping women to keep cycling.
The world of everyday cycling is dominated by a white male demographic. It is much less common for women to cycle for transport and leisure, especially women of colour. We have worked with women for over a decade to understand that they have a number of barriers to cycling, including lack of confidence, lack of access to a bike, being a parent/carer and lacking time/childcare, religious barriers (not allowed, cannot cycle with men, a need to wear certain clothes), cultural barriers, a lack of money to pay for such services, and health; but we know that these barriers are surmountable and that with the proper support women can successfully adopt cycling into their everyday lives.
Our permanent women's cycling hub is providing ongoing support and generating more opportunities for women and their families to get engaged with cycling and reap the benefits.

OUR MISSION
Women on Wheels empowers and enables women to overcome their barriers to taking up cycling - for transport, to improve their physical and mental health, and most importantly, for the pure joy of it.
The Women’s Activities Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and delivering cycle training to a wide range of women from our Hub in Govanhill, Glasgow. This will include learning to ride cycle lessons ( group and 1 2 1 ), confidence building led rides, bike buddy and route navigation support, maintenance classes, bike touring programme as well as lots of social events aimed at those looking to start cycling or cycling more regularly. They will also run the bike lending library.
The ability to develop and nurture strong partnerships with community organisations across Glasgow is key to this role.

CVS Inverclyde is commissioned by NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde to deliver the Community Link Worker service in Inverclyde. This post is permanent in line with our commissioning arrangements.
The Community Link Worker programme in Inverclyde is funded by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Community Link Workers are based within GP Practices and they work across the community, third sector and public sector to support people to live well through strengthening connections between community resources and primary care.
Community Link Workers provide a service that is responsive to the needs and interests of a GP practice population, who are often living in an area affected by socio-economic deprivation. They support patients to identify issues that affect their ability to live well. Taking a person-centred approach, the post holder will support individuals to help them identify personal outcomes and priorities that they would like to address, overcome any barriers to addressing these and link them to local and national support services and activities.
The Community Link Worker will support the existing GP practice teams to become better equipped to match local and national support services to the needs of individuals attending for health and welbeing care. They will also build relationships and processes between the GP practices and community resources, statutory organisations, other health services and voluntary organisations.
