The Wynd Centre, Paisley has been in existence for over forty years as the mission and outreach centre of Oakshaw Trinity Church. Its purpose is to provide outreach to the local community of all faiths and none in both Paisley, and the surrounding areas.

The Development & Administration Officer has a responsibility for employees and budgets and is accountable to the Board of Directors for the implementation of vision, strategy, priorities and policy as determined by the Board and the administrative requirements of Oakshaw Trinity Church. With an instruction from the Board of Directors to reach a balanced budget by 2027, the Development & Administration Officer will play a pivotal role in delivering this, ensuring that the Centre’s resources (human, financial, and material) are aligned to support a sustainable presence. We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Property Co-ordinator to oversee the daily operations, working both in the office and out on site. As the first point of contact for customers, you’ll deliver proactive, high-quality service that builds on our success and keeps us moving forward, maximising value and driving first class KPI performance. You will be responsible for rental income management and arrears; tenancy and estate management; raising and managing repairs; allocation and void management; tenancy sustainment; anti-social and behavioural management as well as general administration duties across all departments.

To reduce harm and the incidence of physical and mental health problems associated with the consumption of psychostimulant drugs. Some counselling may be by telephone or the NHS Attend Anywhere secure platform.

Major Activities and Responsibilities:

  • To provide trauma-informed drug counselling and evidence-based psychosocial interventions to support clients who wish to address their consumption of psychostimulant drugs and other substances.
  • To take on a complex client caseload and work collaboratively with supervising psychologist to support clients presenting with underlying trauma and/or mental health difficulties and problematic substance consumption.
  • To co-ordinate additional support and signpost clients who would benefit from specialist support by liaising with relevant services.
  • To commit to working in a trauma-informed way and to undertake any further training to meet this requirement.
  • To organise own case load and co-ordinate counselling and other appointments.
  • To provide assessment appointments for clients entering the service and recovery-oriented support sessions for clients on the waiting list if and when required.
  • To work constructively and supportively with the Crew Counselling Team.
  • To contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and on-going development of the service.
  • To liaise with other agencies and stakeholders if and when required.

It is essential that you have experience in facilitating, planning and working with vulnerable people in a community setting. A qualification in Social Work, Social Care, Community Education or related discipline is essential, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a lot of experience with supported employment and/or employability programmes, which will give them confidence that they can help Project SEARCH interns succeed. To fulfil the high goals set by VIAS and Project SEARCH, you will need to have expertise researching potential employers to find internships and job openings for interns. The successful candidate will also be able to work with a variety of stakeholders, showing that they have great people skills and the ability to develop and maintain successful partnerships. Candidates should have expertise with funding sources connected to employment and draughting and submitting grant applications. It would also be helpful if they already knew about and understood challenges and activities that affect people with learning disabilities and/or neurodivergent people.
