Job Summary

Within Simon Community, we pride ourselves in taking a psychological and trauma informed approach to our work. We understand the people we work with have likely experienced and continue to experience adverse life events which lead to trauma responses, impacting both physical and mental health. The role of psychology within Simon Community ensures psychological theories and principles are embedded within the organisation in a creative and flexible way. Providing psychological safety and the best wellbeing possible for everyone accessing or working for Simon Community Scotland.

Our psychology team within the organisation is continuing to grow, demonstrating their value and importance to our ever evolving services and support. We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to lead on this work in our West of Scotland teams and take an active leadership role within the organisation. The key focus of this role will be to support the organisation to continue to implement psychologically informed environment principles and trauma informed care, creating and maintaining psychological safety for all. This work will be carried out under the supervision of a Prinicipal Clinical Psychologist external to Simon Community Scotland. The job plan will be agreed with the Director of Services, working independently within the framework, policies and procedures of the organisation. The job plan will cover both direct and indirect work, with more focus on indirect, it is an opportunity to use the range of skills of a Clinical Psychologist; leadership, formulation, consultation, supervision, research and service development. The job will include working across different services in the West of Scotland, including supported accommodation, community support hubs and outreach. This job description will be subject to review as the psychology team, as well as the organisational need

develops and the postholder will be a key stakeholder in that review. The Role of CEO:

In 2026, as EFCT celebrates its milestone 25th event and welcomes its 1,000,000th visitor, the organisation is looking to the future and seeking a visionary Chief Executive to lead its next chapter.

The new CEO will work in close partnership with the Board of Trustees to steer the long-term strategic direction of the charity, ensuring the continued success, sustainability and creative evolution of its flagship event. They will safeguard the Trust’s financial health, uphold best-practice governance, and provide strong, values-led leadership to the operations, creative, and production teams. As the public ambassador for EFCT, the CEO will build and nurture key relationships with partners, funders, local authorities, media, and the wider community—protecting the reputation of the event and amplifying its impact.

The CEO will also oversee the Trust’s community grant-giving programme, ensuring that the surplus generated by the event continues to benefit organisations across Highland Perthshire in meaningful and impactful ways. With responsibility for strategic planning, financial management, operational delivery, risk oversight and compliance, they will ensure that the Trust continues to operate transparently, ethically, and sustainably.

Candidates will bring proven senior leadership experience, ideally gained in a creative, cultural, events, charity or tourism environment. They will have successfully led organisations through development and change, managed complex operational programmes, and implemented financially sound, future-focused strategies. A strong communicator and relationship-builder, they will demonstrate high emotional intelligence, commercial acumen, and an ability to inspire multidisciplinary teams. Importantly, they will share a genuine passion for the mission, community benefit, and unique magic that The Enchanted Forest brings to Highland Perthshire every year.

Background

In 1999 Badenoch and Strathspey Community Transport Company was created by and for the people of this area to provide accessible transport. In 2022, recognising that, through our transport provision, we were providing a wider range of services, we rebranded and changed our name. Our purpose is to strengthen our community by providing accessible transport and wellbeing opportunities. Our work is regularly recognised at a national level, most recently in June 2025 at the Scottish Transport Awards. There will be several staff retirements during 2026 so a key part of this role will involve managing a successful handover with the outgoing member of staff.

The Milton Community Garden Manager will lead the development and delivery of a thriving, community-led garden that improves local health and wellbeing, strengthens community relationships, and increases access to nature. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility for operational management, partnership development, and community-led working.

Total of 18 hours per week, at salary £30102 (pro rata £15481) + 25 days Annual Leave & 12 Public Holidays pro rata + 7% pension contribution. Funding is in place until 31 July 2028, subject to annual funding review and required reports.

This post will specifically focus on targeting areas that are vulnerable to flooding, supporting people in those areas to organise around issues that they care about and learn about climate change and how to ensure that our homes and neighbourhoods are more prepared for its impacts.

The organiser will support members to research their issues, select relevant campaigns, define achievable wins , organise direct actions and support members in negotiations with relevant targets including private/ social landlords, private companies, the local municipality. You will aim to recruit members and support them to build power across Scotland.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about building real people power and excited about the chance to work for a young, diverse and member-run organisation. Experience in recruitment, training delivery, community education or campaigns is welcome; however enthusiasm, willingness to learn and commitment to social justice are more important than previous experience as training will be provided. This role may suit someone with experience in sales, street fundraising or other customer/public facing work, who wishes to move into organising.

This post is accountable to Living Rent’s democratic structures and line managed by Living Rent’s Wider Scotland Head Organiser. Living Rent staff members primarily work Monday - Friday between 11am and 7pm, though the work will sometimes need to be done at other times of day, along with some weekends. Some unsocial hours are inevitable and flexibility is vital.

This role is funded through the Climate Fund of the National Lottery.
