The Free Church of Scotland is looking to appoint a capable Finance Administrator to join our team of committed staff in the Central Office to help with the efficient finance administration for the denomination. This position is to cover maternity leave from late July 2026.

The successful applicant will be part of a small Finance Team. The role will have a particular focus on payroll and payments and will involve regular contact with other staff, ministers, treasurers and suppliers. We are looking for someone who can listen and learn from young people; a passion for change; a desire to make a difference. We want young people to be engaged and for the successful candidate to be able to use their transferable lived skills to deliver real and lasting change.

Primary Role

Will be to help us to further develop and strengthen our partnership working in relation to young people help us to take forward our proposals to set up a Youth Pathway Project. To Engage with Young People to ensure they are at the heart of the design and planning of the Youth Pathway Project, its aims and objectives.

Key tasks

• Engage with, build and maintain positive relationships

• Engage with young people and enable them to inform and design new activities and/or programmes of support which are inclusive, innovative and responsive to their needs.

• Create, with management support, a workplan which highlights project activities and expected outcomes

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate, innovative and committed Development Worker to join our team. This role will focus on implementing programs and initiatives aimed at improving mental health and well-being within the community. The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health support, community development, and a strong understanding of the challenges individuals face.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement (with team and partner support) mental health support programmes, groups, activities and workshops.

• Conduct community outreach to raise awareness about mental health services and resources.

• Collaborate with local groups, organisations and relevant partners

• Provide support, guidance and enhance our referral systems for individuals seeking mental health assistance.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programmes and projects and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

• Advocate for mental health and wellbeing initiatives to be based within the local community: encourage and enable the development and the provision of mental health and wellbeing services and resources within the local communities.

• Recruit, induct local volunteers, provide or enable access to training.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in mental health, community development, or related areas.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge, understanding about the impact of poverty and health inequalities on health and wellbeing

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge of mental health issues and available resources.

• Passion for supporting individuals in improving their mental well-being.

• Experience of working independently, whilst upholding policies and procedures.

• Lived experience would be an advantage, but it is not essential.

• Full Clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.

About the Role:

As a Support Worker, you’ll work as part of a team in providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for the people who use our services. You’ll do this by providing practical and emotional support and encouraging them to achieve their own personal outcomes in all aspects of their daily lives.

Main Responsibilities:

Our Irvine service provides housing support to individuals aged 16-21 and individuals presenting under the National Transfer Scheme. Two part time (20 hours per week) night-shift Support Worker positions are available. The Support Worker will:

  • work as part of a team providing safe, secure, supported accommodation for homeless people.
  • support, review, monitor and evaluate through our case management system, to achieve a positive person-centred outcome for the people we work with in line with organisational, statutory and legislative requirements.
  • maintain and update all recording systems and documentation in line with relevant policies, procedures and practice guidelines, including the occupancy agreement, within required timeframes.
  • provide, plan and facilitate key work meetings, key work sessions, meetings, reviews and other internal/external meetings in conjunction with the person’s support plan.
  • provide general advocacy and advice to the people we support, including assistance to enable them to meet the conditions of their occupancy agreements.

About You:

  • To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
  • Ideally, possess 1 year of experience of working with vulnerable people and challenging behaviour which can be from personal, voluntary and/or professional experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
  • Ability to relate empathetically to people and recognise their right to choice and independence.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as a lone worker.
  • Able to use Microsoft or equivalent applications competently.
  • Ideally, hold and SVQ level 2 or above and be willing to work towards an SVQ 3.
