Our long-term vision is to end youth homelessness, our more immediate mission is to ensure that every young person in Scotland has access to expert youth specific services to assist them to avoid, resolve and move on from homelessness.

Context

Working as part of our Fife Short Term Housing Support Team, the Project Worker will work directly with young people age 16-25 yrs to coordinate and provide emotional and practical support to avoid, resolve and move on from homelessness.

Working directly with young people in their home or within a community setting the Project Worker will support young people to improve their independent living skills, access other services, manage finances and secure/ maintain a permanent home.

The Project Workers are responsible for completing support plans and risk assessments and are the main contact for any key people involved in the care and support of young people.

Volunteer Chair and Treasurer (Trustees) – Help Dads Rock Support Dads and Families across Scotland

Dads Rock is a fast-growing, dynamic Scottish charity with a clear vision: Children thrive when Dads thrive. We are looking for passionate and experienced individuals to join our Board of Trustees.

We are currently recruiting for two key volunteer leadership roles:

• Chair: To provide strategic direction and ensure strong governance as we expand our services across Scotland.
• Treasurer: To utilise your financial expertise in overseeing our financial viability, budgets, and compliance. Experience in a finance role is highly valued.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute your skills to a critical mission with a low time commitment (approx. 2-3 hours per month) and a high societal impact.

MHAP is one of the longest-running independent advocacy organisations in Scotland, and we are now recruiting a new team member to help expand our individual and collective advocacy services for people experiencing mental health challenges and/or addiction issues.

We provide advocacy support to adults aged 18–65 who live in West Lothian or are receiving treatment here. Our work takes place in a range of settings, including St John’s Hospital, HMP Addiewell, and various community locations, as well as home visits when required.

Individual advocacy involves working alongside people on a one-to-one basis to ensure their voices are heard and respected. We support individuals to understand their rights, make informed decisions, and have meaningful influence over matters that affect their lives.

Collective advocacy involves working with groups of people with lived experience to explore shared concerns, identify common themes, and influence service development, policy, and decision-making at a wider level.

This is a varied and rewarding role that can make a real difference in the lives of people who may otherwise be marginalised.

About The Cats Whiskers:

The Cats Whiskers was formed in 2018 by a group of dedicated local volunteers, who saw a need in our local community for the care and re-homing of cats. Initially, these efforts were all carried out with the support of incredible foster carer volunteers. We are now thrilled to operate our re-homing centre in Alloa.

We also have a charity shop in Alva, opened in 2018, which generates income for our core purpose of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats.

Purpose of the job:

Since welcoming the first cat into our shelter in October 2022, our activities have grown to meet

need. In 2023, we rehomed 150 cats. In 2024, this increased to 179. We have also had an increase

in foster care, launched a pet food bank, and become a distribution partner for The Blue Cross. We

are seeking to onboard this role, our first paid staff member, to ensure the smooth day to day

running of our Rehoming Centre on Broad Street. To take on this role, we are looking for someone

who shares our passion for cat welfare, and wants to provide a quality, community service,

supporting our incredible volunteer team, working with, and furthering our local partnerships, and

ensuring the best possible care for our cats.

Main Responsibilities:

As the Volunteer and Centre Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Centre, focusing on the welfare of all cats in our care, and managing our volunteer programme. You will also ensure that all administrative and maintenance procedures are completed to a high standard.

We are looking for someone who is positive, driven and has the ability to thrive under pressure. You will support the board of trustees to continue to develop our Centre and services to meet local need. You will be someone who has:

• Experience and passion for cat care
• Great communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Current (clean) driving license
• Strong organisational, administration and analytical skills
• Experience of working within local communities; creating and nurturing partnerships
• Awareness of health and safety legislation

All Roads Lead to Whithorn SCIO is seeking an experienced, motivated Charity Manager to lead the next stage of growth for our newly refurbished community hall, gym, luxury bunkhouse and small portfolio of social housing. This is a rare opportunity to shape a high-quality rural community hub and asset that creates new opportunities for Whithorn and the wider Machars.

The trustees are determined to appoint the right person and can offer flexibility in how the role is structured for a candidate with the skills and track record we need. We will also consider an interim Charity Manager arrangement for the right person. Hybrid working (part hall-based, part home-based) is possible, and for candidates from further afield we can offer overnight accommodation in our on-site bunkhouse as part of the package.

About the role

The Charity Manager will have overall responsibility for strategic, financial and operational management across:

• Whithorn’s community hall and activity space
• The on-site gym
• The luxury bunkhouse
• A small number of social housing properties
• Wider community projects and development activity

Key responsibilities include:

• Strategic leadership – Working with trustees to develop, implement and review the charity’s strategy, turning ideas into deliverable plans and projects.
• Funding and opportunity sourcing – Identifying opportunities, leading high-quality grant applications, developing relationships with funders and partners, and building new income streams linked to the hall, gym, bunkhouse and housing. Proven experience in grant and opportunity sourcing is essential.
• Financial oversight – Working with our external bookkeeper to review reports, approve payments, monitor budgets and cashflow, lead annual budgeting and provide clear financial updates to the Board. Oversight of VAT, HMRC and payroll through external providers.
• Governance and compliance – Ensuring policies and procedures (health & safety, safeguarding, GDPR, insurance, housing compliance) are up to date and followed.
• People and operations – Line-managing the Facilities, Gym & Bunkhouse Coordinator and a casual Community & Hospitality Support Worker, supporting volunteers and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across all sites.
• External relations – Acting as an ambassador for the charity with community members, partners, funders and visitors; promoting the facilities and the Whithorn area as a destination.

About you

You will bring:

• Proven experience in charity, community or social enterprise management.
• A strong track record of successful grant and opportunity sourcing (must-have).
• Confidence with budgets and financial information, and experience working with finance/admin support.
• Good understanding of governance, health & safety, safeguarding and GDPR.
• Experience line-managing staff and/or volunteers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.

Experience in housing management, community facilities, tourism, accommodation or rural regeneration would be an advantage but is not essential.

The role:

Building on a successful individual giving programme at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), this role focuses on developing a new legacy and in-memory giving programme, encompassing marketing campaigns, stewardship, legacy administration and events.

This is permanent, part time role (22.5 hours per week) based at Edinburgh Zoo, but working across both sites which also covers Highland Wildlife Park.

Some of the things you’ll do:

• Work with the Fundraising Manager to develop and deliver compelling new legacy and in-memory giving campaigns for RZSS.
• Liaise with relevant colleagues, including fundraising, marketing and communications teams, to gain insights into our audiences and help to prepare legacy and in-memory giving copy and messaging.
• Lead on activities to promote legacies and in memory giving across all relevant RZSS platforms, including our websites, digital channels, events and direct mail.
• Lead on the planning and promotion of legacies and in-memory giving through on-site collateral and signage at Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park
• Develop and manage fundraising data on the CRM system relating to legacy and in memorial giving, supervising other staff when necessary to ensure all data is entered correctly and kept up to date, producing reports upon request and ensuring that financial information is handled with sensitivity.
• Use supporter data to inform and improve the legacy and in memorial programme.
• Identify trends in fundraising and recommend opportunities to senior colleagues.

What we’re looking for:

• Educated to Degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience in a similar role.
• CIOF Certificate of Fundraising or equivalent experience
• Extensive knowledge of donor cultivation and stewardship principles
• NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, e.g. producing creative materials for fundraising, with the ability to tailor complex information to a wide range of audiences/donors including those a senior level or requiring a sensitive approach
• Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, meeting deadlines in a busy environment.

• Starting salary between £19,938 - £20,436 (offer based on experience / salary pro-rated based on 22.5hrs per week) with future salary progression up to £22,223 per annum (FTE £33,230 - £34,060 with future progression up to £37,038 per annum)
