Charity registered in Scotland SC041845
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance is a registered Scottish charity set up to provide air ambulance capability to complement statutory resources across Scotland, delivering emergency relief of serious sickness and injury and assist the speed of recovery in time critical medical emergencies.
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) exists so nobody in Scotland suffers or dies because medical help cannot get there in time.
People can get sick or have accidents anywhere and anytime. But in Scotland there are places where urgent medical help cannot reach people. Or help gets there too late. And when lives are at risk every minute matters.
As a charity we rely on donations from the Scottish public, companies and communities to ensure that urgent medical help gets to the patient when it is needed, wherever they are and at whatever time of day.
We are seeking a confident media and communications professional to join our Marketing and Communications team and lead PR and media activity across SCAA. Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the successful candidate will secure impactful media coverage, manage press enquiries, build relationships with journalists and stakeholders, support and brief spokespeople, and develop compelling stories that showcase the charity's impact. Working collaboratively across the organisation, they will play a key role in delivering our communications strategy and increasing awareness, engagement and support for SCAA’s mission.
This role will be based in Perth, at Scone Airport. SCAA supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements—our current approach typically includes two office days per week for those working on a hybrid basis. The usual hours of work will be Monday—Friday, 9am—5pm but it should be noted that this role will require the successful candidate to occasionally work at weekends and during the evenings. This role will also require the successful candidate to travel regularly to operational locations and media opportunities within Scotland, sometimes at short notice, and to undertake media on-call duties as part of a rotational rota.
