The Service
The role will be instrumental in the continued development of our training academy for young people and adults who experience complex and multiple barriers to reaching their full potential. Last year we support 350 learners with 100% of those that we worked with being more confident, 93% gaining qualifications and 81% reaching a positive destination where eligible.
The Job
We are recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Project Co-ordinator to join our award winning training team to develop and establish our new Youth Enterprise Support Programme (YES).
The role is instrumental in the continued development of our training academy for young people and adults experiencing complex and multiple barriers to reaching their full potential. Last year we supported 350 children, young people and adults with 100% telling us they were more confident, 93% gaining qualifications and 81% reaching a positive destination.
The Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for Developing two, co-produced enterprise training programmes with young people being involved in the design, development and delivery of the projects:
• Shooting Stars and Slippery Slopes board game, raising awareness of gambling in a fun and engaging way.
• Adapting the workplace for Neurodivergence - to raise awareness with employers on how to support young people and adults who are living with neurodivergence into sustainable employment. The programmes will be designed and delivered by young people with lived experience.
The successful post holder will be responsible for developing the project from scratch, recruiting young people and developing the ideas as enterprising projects that can be sustainable beyond the funding period of two years.
The YES programme Project Co-ordinator will recruit and support 20 young people to co-produce and deliver an enterprise project.
The successful candidate will have strong youth work skills and at least three years’ experience of working with young people in co-production. We are also looking for someone who can work on a strengths based model of youth work and has an understanding of social enterprise.
The role is full time position but we would consider part time and/or flexible working. We have a fantastic facility to deliver training and amazing team to help you become part of The Larder family. Core hours are Monday - Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm but you may be required to work alternative hours, including evenings and weekends. You will have 29 days annual leave per year, inclusive of public holidays.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable chef/cook to be part of our exciting journey at our Training Café in Strathbrock Partnership Centre, Broxburn.
As our Chef/Cook you will be responsible for planning, preparing and cooking good food from scratch in our Strathbrock Training Café. You will share your knowledge, experience and skills with young people and adults with additional support needs to help them on their journey to reaching their full potential and finding work.
You will have proven skills in the production of good food from scratch along with a solid operational knowledge of all HACCP regulations and processes.Combined with this you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with trainees in a friendly and professional manner.

We are seeking an experienced and creative Senior Production Chef to support the development and implementation of our Catalyst Kitchen Programme.

We are seeking an experienced community practitioner to manage the development, implementation and day-to-day operational delivery of The Larder’s Catalyst Kitchen Project.
This role offers an opportunity to develop The Larder’s Catalyst Kitchen project and contribute to reducing hunger and food insecurity in West Lothian. We have successfully secured funding for three years from the Scottish Government to develop a more sustainable model that demonstrates innovation and excellence. We are seeking an individual who aspires to the alleviation and ultimately the eradication of poverty with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in and with communities to find their own ways to alleviate poverty.
During Covid our food poverty project had to change direction and provided over 200,000 free ready meals to the doors of West Lothian residents experiencing food insecurity. As we move out of Covid restrictions and the Cost of Living Crisis we are keen to get this project back to its food with dignity roots and a more sustainable model.
This exciting new role will lead on the implementation of the next phase, which will build a more sustainable approach with dignity and good food at the heart of the project. The
successful applicant will oversee the implementation of a new model of delivery,
which will include charging for ready meals, roll out of a mobile food van, cookery classes and a ready meal pilot for isolated older people in partnership with The Food Train.

The Job
We are recruiting an experienced and dynamic Youth Worker to join our amazing team of trainers and youth workers. The post will help deliver our school and 16 + learning programmes.
Our employability and life skills programmes provide longer-term, holistic support for disadvantaged young people, aged 16 to 24, in West Lothian and surrounding council areas with the most severe, multiple and complex barriers to reaching their full potential, supporting them to engage with education, employment and training. We are a small, friendly can do team and we are sometimes all hands on deck, so you need to be flexible and willing to contribute to the success of the whole organisation.
The Youth worker will be will be responsible for planning and delivery of the programmes, recruitment, fostering positive partnerships with participants, colleagues and a range of organisations to offer a whole support and learning package. The role will include supporting improved Mental Health & Wellbeing, Youth Issues, and attainment, helping young people to develop personally, socially, and educationally.
The post holder will work with young people on a one-to-one basis and in a group work setting in a face-to-face environment, responding to the needs of each participant to enable them to reach their full potential, based on equality and respect for each other.

We deliver training and employability programmes in our bespoke training academy, in schools and in community settings across West Lothian with plans to expand to other geographical areas.

The post is initially funded for two years and will deliver our new Realising Potential programme as well as providing support to current training programmes. The Youth worker will be the lead in the project and will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the programme, recruitment, fostering positive partnerships with participants, colleagues and a range of organisations to offer a whole support and learning package. The role will include supporting improved mental health & wellbeing, youth issues, and attainment, helping young people to develop personally, socially, and educationally.
The post holder will work with young people on a one-to-one basis and in a group work setting and include face to face and online delivery, responding to the needs of each participant to enable them to reach their full potential based on equality and respect for each other.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in youth work and project management. Delivery of engaging youth work and evaluation skills are all essential. This will involve fostering positive
relationships with young people, colleagues in the training team and strong partnerships with a range of organisations offering alternative progression options. In particular, you will work closely with The Larder’s Employer Engagement Officer, Progressions Co-ordinator and Training Co-ordinator. The result of these services will allow young people to maintain personal choice in the development of skills and qualities leading to positive progressions in their life and work.
As a member of The Larder Team you will be reliable, enthusiastic and capable of positive interaction with all stakeholders and colleagues and remain consistent with our company ethos and focus. You will have excellent communication skills, and able to engage with our trainees in an understanding and professional manner.
Experience for the role is required and a willingness to participate in further development is essential.
The post is for 37.5 hours per week but you must be flexible and able to work additional hours when reasonably required. You must also be flexible in your delivery location with weekend and evening work required when necessary.
