The Women’s Centre Glasgow provides a safe, confidential and welcoming space to women living primarily in the NW of Glasgow. We provide support services including: a drop-in café, counselling, holistic services (reiki & yoga), a range of creative activities, promote health & wellbeing and educational activities. You will be entitled to 20 days Annual Leave, Public Holidays, and extra days during Christmas shutdown.
For over 25 years we have provided a safe space for women in Glasgow. The Women’s Centre offers social, therapeutic and educational activities with the aim of empowering women in all aspects of their lives.
We are seeking to appoint new trustees. You will be joining a small, dynamic board which is actively involved in the management, vision, and welfare of the centre. You will be required to attend a board meeting one afternoon per month in the centre, and be actively involved in the work of the centre as required.
We welcome all applications and particularly welcome applications from women with financial, HR, fundraising or legal experience.
The Blooming Well Being project provides a holistic service to address the physical & mental health and wellbeing of the women who access The Women’s Centre.
This is a two year funded project which builds on the existing health & wellbeing work of the centre. The successful candidate will develop a range of new activities and develop a programme of volunteering opportunities to support the aims of the project.
A key aspect of the role is to recruit, induct, manage and support volunteers.

The Women’s Centre has a long history of making a difference to the lives of women in Glasgow. We are seeking to build on our existing programme by responding creatively to the needs of women who currently use the centre and to develop work which will attract new users to the centre. This work will positively impact and empower women.
The role offers an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for developing our wellbeing programme, and for establishing a volunteer programme which supports this work.
Women have been disproportionately affected by the cost of living crisis and are facing increased levels of poverty and financial hardship. The Women’s Centre Glasgow has secured funding via the Scottish Illegal Money Lending Unit to run a pilot project to alleviate financial insecurity for women and families. The role also involves raising awareness of the impact illegal money lending has on individuals, families and the wider community.
We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic advice worker with a thorough knowledge of the financial landscape to improve the lives of women and families living with financial insecurity.

The manager will be expected to be a member of the staff team and contribute to the work and ethos of the Centre: To provide a safe place for women to meet and be offered social, therapeutic and educative activities with the aim of empowering women in all aspects of their lives.
Purpose:
To implement and evaluate the work of the centre on behalf of the Board, fulfilling our mission of empowering women and ensuring the sustainability of the Centre for the future.
Scope:
Internal – Implementing and managing centre programme of work to improve sustainability
External – Local and national government, community organisations and networks

KEY DUTIES
• Identify the support networks available to women experiencing domestic abuse
• Link women into the services available in the centre
• Signposting women and families affected by domestic abuse to key services to help them
• Identify key organisations who support women and to build and work in partnership with them
• Develop and contribute to the work of North West Violence Against Women Local Delivery Group
• Contribute and work in partnership and take a leading role in expanding the current programme of events e.g. 16 Days of Action
• To develop group work support if required
• Develop and raise awareness of domestic abuse within and out with the Centre
• Work as part of the staff team to support our women.
