We are looking for a Community Worker who will work strategically as part of Stirling Baptist’s Communities Ministry team in the Family Life Centre. The role involves coordinating the various activities taking place within the FLC on a day-to-day basis. In addition, the appointed worker will lead some of the activities, including organising and supporting volunteers. The Family Life Centre Worker will be supported by and work under the general leadership of the Communities Team Leader.
The successful candidate will:
• Have experience of working within the field of community based mental health and wellbeing.
• Be able to create, develop and deliver innovative and creative programmes that support the Vision of the Family Life Centre
• Be able to handle enquiries and referrals in confidence and identify appropriate support.
• Have strong desire to demonstrate the love of God in providing care and practical support to families.
• Have excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
• Be able to grow, equip and lead a team of volunteer leaders
• Be able to live out the Vision and Values of Stirling Baptist Church and envision others.
• Work well in a team ministry context
• Be self-motivated and flexible
The Community worker will focus on helping to mend brokenness in the lives of individuals and families.
Support to be provided ranges from practical help projects for individuals to social activities for all ages to homework club linked to the local primary school to Messy and Café church.
The successful candidate will:
• Be able to demonstrate an understanding of community development with a focus on substance abuse and the problems arising from.
• Have experience in Christian community projects.
• Be an effective, thoughtful and relevant communicator of Christian faith.
• Have excellent interpersonal and networking skills.
• Be able to grow, equip and lead a team of volunteer leaders.
• Be able to assist in the development of and delivery of community programmes that engage with the Top of the Town and beyond.
• Work well in a team ministry context.
• Be self-motivated and flexible.
• Be able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively.
We are looking for a Caretaker to exercise on behalf of the Church membership a duty of care for people who enter the Church premises. This will include the fabric of the buildings, the garden and equipment, as required and directed by the Property Manager.
The successful candidate will:
· Be self-motivated and flexible
· Be a great team player but able to work effectively unsupervised when required
· Be able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
· Have good practical skills to attend to small repairs
· Take pride in looking after our buildings
· Be willing to learn about important policies such as Health and Safety and then help implement them where required
