We are currently looking to recruit support workers to join our small team within Inclusion Alliance. The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities to be included in the community and lead an ordinary life. Your work would involve helping people to access educational, social, leisure and work or volunteering opportunities in the community.

No experience or formal qualifications are necessary for the role although a caring nature, positive attitude and a sense of fun are important characteristics to have. New staff will receive paid training and undertake shadow shifts with experienced staff members during induction. We want new staff to feel ready and able to work prior to working on their own for the first time.

We have various vacancies available including part time and relief/casual positions in various locations throughout Edinburgh.

• Working hours are based between the hours of 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday

• We have various permanent and casual vacancies available.

• £21,239 - £21,567 per annum, pro rata based on a 35 hour working week

• Relief/ Casual pay rate- £11.67 per hour

Role

Working with the Management Team the Administration Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Manager through general day to day administrative and financial duties of the organisation.

Duties

• Work closely with the Manager to ensure smooth operation of finance matters.

• Responsible for financial records including petty cash, posting and paying suppliers invoices, processing and raising invoices, using SAGE 50 accountancy package on behalf of the organisation, knowledge of Xero software would be beneficial.

• Preparing monthly salaries and expenses on spreadsheet to pass to Accountants.

• Preparing financial reports for the Manager.

• Keeping record of employees’ salary increase dates.

• Negotiating with utility companies.

• Maintaining records in line with data protection requirements.

• Undertaking general office duties including ordering stationery, updating databases, photocopying and any other appropriate office duties.

• General administration relating to AGM and Board Meetings. Recording minutes, preparing, and posting relevant documents to members.

• To assist with other relevant duties required by the management team.

Person Specification

• Competent with Microsoft Office package and Sage 50 Accounts Essentials (or other equivalent software)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Book-keeping skills

• Able to work under own initiative

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join a small team to provide 1:1 support for a man with learning disabilities. The support will involve accessing daily community activities, developing new activities, and maintaining friendships and social connections.

The person shares a car and enjoys visiting various places. The person also enjoys travelling by bus therefore a driving licence would be beneficial although not essential.

Monday 9.30am-4pm

Tuesday 9.30am-4pm

Wednesday to Friday

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a good sense of humour to join a small team to provide two-to-one support for a man who has Angelman Syndrome. He has learning and some physical difficulties and you are there to help him be included in an ordinary life. He stays in the family home and work duties include support with personal care, keeping the home clean and tidy as well as some food preparation. We are looking for a proactive and motivating person to look for new activities and experiences. Your work would also include supporting the man to access social, leisure and learning opportunities in the community.

The person has his own car and enjoys visiting a variety of places therefore a car driver with the relevant licence and experience would be beneficial although not essential. He also enjoys bus and tram travel as other forms of transport for variation and being part of the community. His wheelchair is sometimes required as a form of transport.

Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be committed to working in a person-centred way ensuring that support is built around this person’s wishes and needs. No experience or formal qualifications are necessary as full training and skills development is provided.

Wednesday 9.00am -3.00pm

Thursday- 9.00am -2.00pm

Friday- 9.00am – 3.00pm

Additional hours may potentially be available in a relief capacity to cover annual leave and other absences.

We are looking for a person to provide one-to-one support for two gentlemen with learning difficulties to help be included in ordinary life. You would work would include helping the men to access social, leisure and volunteering opportunities in the community.

The person who requires support on a Wednesday and Thursday has his own car and enjoys visiting a variety of places therefore a car driver with the relevant licence and experience is required for the role.
