withYOU is an organisation established in the 1980’s, previously part of Castle Rock Edinvar and latterly Places for People Scotland. In 2018, it separated to become its own independent charity.
Our services cover a broad range of social care areas, but have a unifying focus around ensuring those we support are able to have a safe, secure place to stay, and wherever possible are able to maintain their tenancy.
We work with people 16+. Our service models range from housing support in core and cluster, outreach services and we have a number of 24/7 supported services, including homelessness hostels.

We work with over 1200 people each year, employ 230 staff and have an annual turnover of over £6m. Whilst our organisation is relatively unknown, we have ambitions to become a more recognised provider of high quality care and support. Alongside substantial internal transformation activity, we are also undergoing a re-branding exercise which will culminate in a new name and visual identity, alongside new external communications approaches to support our development.

Who we are looking for
We are undertaking a substantial transformation and improvement programme, and are looking for several trustees who can play an integral role in the governance of our charity.
You do not need to have been a Trustee before, nor hold a senior position elsewhere. What we are looking for is people with an interest in supporting our organisation to develop through contribution of their own skill sets, a passion for ensuring high quality care and support is provided to those in our services, and a desire to play an active role in our governance.
We would particularly like to speak to individuals with a background in:

Purpose of the board and the position of Trustee
The withYOU Board provides leadership and direction to the organisation, determining strategy and ensuring that people and financial resources are available to support its delivery.
The Board promotes high standards of governance to ensure that the organisation complies with legal and regulatory requirements, both as a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. The Board monitors performance ensuring that risks are assessed, monitored and managed, and that quality service provision and innovation is thought through and implemented. Working collectively, Board Members share and accept responsibility for the decisions made by the Board.
The role of Board Member is non-executive and unpaid; the Senior Leadership Team, led by the Chief Executive Officer, is responsible for operational management within a framework of controls established by the Board. In practice, the Board and CEO work in partnership to develop innovative approaches to business development and delivery and to safeguard the organisation’s future.
The HR Officer will play both an advisory and operational role. The role provides generalist HR advice and support to all team members whilst supporting the smooth day to day running of HR operations. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, the HR Officer will support and advise Line Managers and team members on all aspects of the HR lifecycle.
In addition the HR Officer will also participate as a contributor to the People team, working toward a consistent employment experience for all withYOU team members.

Responsibilities of the HR Officer
HR Advisory
• With the HRBPs, support employee relations issues across the organisation.
• Keep abreast of all appropriate legislation in the UK and ensure a base understanding of employment relations basics.
• Manage queries relating to team member employment terms and benefits.
HR Operations
• Manage the day to day HR lifecycle for all withYOU team members. withYOU have a combination of automated and paper based systems, requiring the HR Officer to quickly navigate these systems and processes in order to support HR operations effectively.
• Manage the day to day benefit administration including change reporting, benefit improvement and benefit advisory.
• Manage and administer the contracting process for all new starts with the support of the HR Assistant.
• Ensuring people files, data and reporting for withYOU is up to date and accurate in BreatheHR.
• Support with the administration of the policies and procedures that govern employment for withYOU, partnering across the organisation to make improvements where relevant.

Role of the Talent Acquisition Officer

The Talent Acquisition Officer is a critical part of the People & Culture team and supports all withYOU recruitment efforts by providing full-cycle talent acquisition, recruitment and onboarding support. About the role
As Head of Services, you will join our new Senior Management Team and lead our team of talented, hard working Service Managers. The Head of Services role is initially for a 6 month period, and may be extended subject to operational plans and funding. As part of the responsibilities of the role, you will support the SMT and Board to develop staffing restructuring plans for services, to ensure we support our staff and deliver excellent quality care. There may therefore be opportunities for the post-holder to remain with withYOU in a permanent role, dependent on the outcome of the restructuring activities.

About The Service:
Our Mental Health Service is looking for a Team Leader to join our team supporting the Service Manager across 3 services, Edinburgh Mental Health, West Lothian Mental Health and Horizons.
The Mental Health service provides practical and emotional support to adults who have a mental health diagnosis in our visiting support services in Edinburgh and West Lothian. The service operates on a rota basis working early, mid, back, weekend working. We offer a range of support across Edinburgh and the Lothians working in partnership to build trust to support mental health and wellbeing. Promoting engagement in identifying personal outcomes and developing skills where identified to support recovery, living well and living life. We provide tenancy, emotional, and social support to people in their own homes in partnership with local authorities and housing associations. This is also an outreach service, with travel throughout Edinburgh and West Lothian.
Our Horizons Service provide tenancy, emotional, and social support to young adults in their own homes in partnership with local authorities and housing associations. We also offer pre-tenancy support to individuals who require housing but are not quite ready to move in.
We support individuals with their emotional, social and tenancy needs. Supporting them to access their local community, attend college, appointments, work, or voluntary experiences. We support a visiting support model, where we work closely with a local housing association to provide supported tenancies both furnished and unfurnished for young people who are transitioning into their first accommodation.
We also provide the same support through our outreach model, where individuals live in their own tenancies. Within our outreach programme, we support individuals who choose to self-manage their support needs through Self Directed Support.
Additional Notes:
Shift work, weekend work and sleepovers may be a requirement of this role, sleepovers attract an additional payment. Flexible working arrangements are also available. These can be discussed at your interview.

We have an HR Advisor opportunity to join the HR team at with YOU. As an experienced HR generalist, you will provide advice and guidance on absence, short term and long term, recruitment, disciplinaries and grievances, including note taking, wellbeing of employees, flexible working and all the support required of advising both managers and staff. You will be working alongside a wider HR function providing full generalist service across with YOU.
Working with managers and traveling throughout Edinburgh and Lothians you will:-
• Providing advice on employee relations
• Manage own case work up to complex levels
• Upskilling and training line managers on HR process and procedure

With a proven track record and experienced HR person you will provide expert employment relations advice through effectively advising, coaching, and mentoring managers on policies and procedures ensuring a quality first class HR service.
You will be a truly experienced HR generalist. Ideally, you would have previously worked in the social care sector across a multi-site environment, and you will be used to managing a high caseload within deadlines. You will hold a CIPD qualification or be working towards and will use your knowledge and experience to advise managers and influence positive solutions and outcomes.
