We provide refuge, information and support services for women, children and young people in the Stirlingshire area who are victims of domestic abuse.

Children and Young People’s Worker

Are you passionate about women and children’s rights? Do you have the skills, knowledge and experience to work with children and young people experiencing domestic abuse?

The Children’s workers are responsible for providing day-to-day support for children in Stirling Women’s Aid’s refuge and outreach programmes. This includes providing support to individual children and young people including arranging and attending meetings with health, education, and social work. The children’s workers will work closely with Stirling Women’s Aid’s Women’s and Outreach family workers to provide a comprehensive service across the local authority.

The role requires a range of experience and skills. You must be able to work independently and manage your own workload. You must have a strong commitment to equality and a feminist understanding of domestic abuse. You will have strong communication skills and will be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

Must hold a current driving license.

Are you passionate about women and children? We have an exciting opportunity at Stirling Women’s Aid. We are currently recruiting for a Family Outreach and Children and Young Person’s (CYP) service manager.

The Family Outreach and CYP manager will work with a small team to deliver Stirling and District Women’s Aid’s children’s service and the family outreach service. You will be responsible for providing day-to-day management of the CYP support team and the Family outreach team ensuring the smooth running of the both the outreach and CYP service. You will also deliver support to individual families in the family outreach programme including arranging and attending meetings with health, education, and social work.

The role requires a range of experience and skills. You must be able to manage and support the children’s support workers and the family support workers as well as have the skills to work with families in the outreach service. You must have a good working knowledge of children’s rights, GIRFEC and child protection and be able to advocate for both women and young people. You must have a strong commitment to equality and a feminist understanding of domestic abuse. You will have strong communication skills and will be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of partner agencies.

Family Outreach Worker

Are you passionate about women and children’s rights? Do you have the skills, knowledge and experience to develop the outreach service and work independently?

The Family Outreach Workers are responsible for providing day-to-day support for families in the Stirling Women’s Aid’s outreach programme, including overseeing women and children living in our scattered rural refuges. This includes providing advice, information, emotional and practical support as well as overseeing the general maintenance of rural refuge properties. The outreach workers will work closely with Stirling Women’s Aid’s IDAA and drop in workers and CYP team to provide a comprehensive service across the local authority. This role also requires the post-holder to work one day per week in HMP Cornton Vale with women who have experienced domestic abuse and are currently in prison, this requires a good understanding of the dynamics of domestic abuse and the complexities around this.
