This is an exciting opportunity for an IT and Procurement Officer with the Breastfeeding Network, to enable the work of a high-impact charity, based in Paisley. Our volunteers and staff are available to parents when they need our support most, providing evidence-based information and support for their breastfeeding journey. You will have excellent experience providing a wide range of practical IT support to an organisation and its users and an advanced level of training in computer science/ IT or equivalent by experience. This is a busy and varied role requiring high levels of organisation and an ability to communicate effectively and clearly with users at all levels of the organisation.
The Finance Manager will provide full financial management support for the charity. This will include strategic finance support to the Board of Trustees, CEO and projects. Responsibility for line management and technical oversight of finance and IT and other systems and processes working closely with the Human Resources Manager, the Central Support Manager and other key operational staff.
The Human Resources Assistant is new role which will support an increasingly busy and expanding area of the organisation supporting the HR Manager in the day to day running of the HR function which includes payroll. This is a wide and varied role in a fast paced environment.
The majority of staff work remotely and several work as a combination of remote working and from a small administrative office base in Paisley including this role. The HR Assistant will be line managed by the HR Manager but will also work closely with other members of the central and wider team.
We wish to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator that will oversee, engage and motivate volunteer peer supporters at the current breastfeeding support groups in the community and to support the work of the Midlothian Breastfeeding Alliance (MBA).
The post holder will work closely with the BfN Scottish Peer Support Service Manager (SPPS), playing an integral role in the general day to day workings of the volunteer work schedules and data collection. The Volunteer Coordinator will also work closely with the MBA, NHS Lothian, local midwifery and health Visiting Team and the Midlothian Infant Feeding Adviser to ensure the service fits the changing local services.

The post of Finance Officer is a practical role which includes core administrative financial tasks. The Finance Officer also provides professional and consistent finance support to staff in projects, managers and volunteers, and delivers finance support to meet the organisation’s needs. Experience of SAGE Accounts and Payroll packages required.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Board of Trustees.
As a Trustee, you’ll have the opportunity to apply and develop your skills and experience within BfN’s welcoming and dedicated Board. You’ll use your passionate commitment to ensure the charity can continue to progress strategically and influence real change for parents and families choosing to breastfeed.
New trustees will help ensure BfN fully represent the range of diversity in the infant feeding community. We are prioritising applicants who can add to the Board’s skills in public health, finance, organisational development and HR.
This role of Trustee with the Breastfeeding Network is voluntary, flexible, home-based and with occasional travel for meetings when that is possible. We welcome applications from all sections of the community and with a programme of work in Scotland we would also like to receive interest from applicants in Scotland.
Trustee Responsibilities:
The Board of trustees meets four times a year plus an extra meeting for the Annual General Meeting. The annual time commitment is 5 days for meetings, plus preparation and reading time, with opportunities for deeper involvement in relevant areas of the charity’s work. You will be invited to their events and the annual conference.
The role is not remunerated but travel and expenses are paid.
