The IN-Ren Officer, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, will lead our programme and act as an integration conduit for Renfrewshire’s ethnically diverse groups. The officer will deliver a programme to reduce barriers as described by our target communities. The IN-Ren Officer will lead an approach that includes a commitment to developing strong sustained advocacy by empowering participants to act as local advocates themselves, for their growing communities. As part of Renfrewshire’s ongoing commitment to using culture as a means of improving life chances, the officer will also support codesign of and involvement in local cultural programmes.
The IN-Ren Officer will be aware of the need to empower participants to build confidence, skills and trusted relationships with partners. This in turn will lead to meaningful codesign and participation in service delivery improvement, and thus increased levels of health and wellbeing.
Purpose
To strengthen the voluntary sector in Renfrewshire by increasing the capacity of Engage Renfrewshire members through; growing voluntary income, designing and delivering a training calendar, and supporting governance and organisational development.

All staff are expected to work in a flexible way when occasionally tasks arise which are not specifically covered by a job description. These additional tasks will normally be to cover unforeseen circumstances of changes in work and will normally be compatible with the jobholder’s regular area of work. If the additional duties become a regular or frequent part of the jobholder’s duties it may be included in their job description in consultation with the member of
staff.

The Engage team are at an exciting stage of supporting post-pandemic recovery in Renfrewshire, particularly in building on the superb response of the voluntary sector during the crisis. We’re looking for an experienced volunteer manager, who understands the benefits and the challenges of volunteering, and can combine their track record in marketing, to support us until June 2023 (subject to funding).
Engage is looking for an enthusiastic, versatile officer who can support the effective distribution of funds within robust financial, monitoring and reporting processes, while developing the medium/long term capacity of mental health and wellbeing support in Renfrewshire. The post is based in Paisley, covering Renfrewshire, and will incorporate home working.
