About Us:
SiMBA Charity is a dynamic and impactful non-profit organisation committed to supporting bereaved parents who lose their baby during pregnancy or around the time of birth. Our team is comprised of passionate individuals who share a common goal – to help parents through their bereavement journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Financial Oversight: Monitor, support, and report on the organisation's financial health, including budgeting, cash flow management, financial forecasting, annual accounts, and audit.
• Transparency and Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and transparency in financial reporting to stakeholders.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with the team to develop and execute a financial strategy aligned with the organisation's mission and goals.
• Fundraising Support: Work closely with the fundraising team to develop financial strategies that support our fundraising efforts and ensure sustainability.
• Risk Management: Identify and manage financial risks and propose mitigation strategies to protect the organisation's financial interests.
• Financial Reporting: Support the preparation and present financial reports to the board of directors and key stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial strategies into program planning and execution.
Experience:
• Proven experience in accountancy and financial management in the charity sector.
• Strong understanding of charity financial regulation, compliance and reporting.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools (our charity uses Xero).
• Commitment to the organisation's mission and values.

We are looking for a new Trusts and Corporate Fundraiser to add to our small and friendly team. Joining SiMBA will mean you’d be part of a very well respected, dedicated, and compassionate Charity, committed to helping families at their critical time of loss.
In this role you will take the lead on coordinating Trust fundraising activity, identifying trusts and foundation prospects as well as writing high quality applications. In collaboration with the CEO and the Head of Fundraising and Communications, you’ll also create tailored charity of the year proposals for potential corporates and cultivate longer term corporate parternships.

We are looking for an administrative assistant to join our small team as maternity cover for our Support Service Assistant. We are seeking an organised individual with excellent communication skills, able to engage with people at all levels. You will be instrumental in the effective administration of our core support services including our Memory Boxes, Family Rooms, and Trees of Tranquillity, and will promote operational excellence and high quality across all service delivery areas to families, volunteers and wider stakeholders.
If you are detailed, focussed, passionate about supporting the team to deliver the highest quality of care, and can work in a fast-paced environment, then this is the role for you.
You will have direct contact with people who have experienced the loss of a baby; parents, family members, friends and colleagues and healthcare professionals who are supporting them. Experience of working with service users and managing the sensitivity around this is desirable. You must be able to work with an empathetic approach and know that you would be comfortable in a bereavement care environment. SiMBA provides strong internal support through our onboarding processes and regular check ins and external supervision is also available.

We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to join our small team for a 1 year period to support the CEO and wider team with administration and office management. This role offers lots of opportunity to bring your business skills to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the operational side of the charity.
If you are a team player who is able to engage with people at all levels, establishing relationships with all key stakeholders and has proven experience in both office management and administration support at leadership level, then we want to hear from you.
You must be passionate about ensuring systems, processes and policies are of a high standard in order to fulfil our aim of offering the best care to the bereaved families we support. You will be instrumental in the effective organisation of the office environment, supporting the team in achieving operational excellence and high quality across all service delivery areas to all families, volunteers and wider stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing direct administrative support to the CEO as well as being a central point of support for the wider team.
This role would therefore be ideally suited to an experienced Business Manager looking to take on more responsibility in the efficient running of a small charity.

It’s an exciting time of growth at SiMBA, and we are looking for a Head of Fundraising and Communications to grow this flourishing area of income. This hands-on role brings lots of opportunity to shape and develop the income stream.
If you are a team player who is able to engage with people at all levels, establishing relationships with all key stakeholders and has proven experience across the fundraising and communications functions, then we want to hear from you. You must be passionate about working with the fundraising and communications team to engage with every fundraiser and donor to ensure they receive a high quality and consistent supporter journey.
The Head of Fundraising and Communications will be responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day fundraising and communications function, leading a small, newly established team to deliver on our fundraising target and strategy. This role is largely operational in its focus but will require you to support the CEO and our Board at a strategic level. You will work very closely with your team to deliver on operational activities, whilst still able to focus upon setting and monitoring progress against the fundraising and communications strategies and establishing effective processes and systems.
This role would therefore be ideally suited to an experienced Fundraising Manager looking to take on more responsibility in the management of a small team or applying skills learnt as a departmental lead in a larger charity to a “Head of” function role in a smaller organisation.

SiMBA is a charity registered in Scotland, yet our services reach across the UK and Ireland. SiMBA exists to support families and those close to them whose baby has died at any stage of pregnancy or around the time of birth. We support anyone who has lost a baby no matter how recent, or how long ago the loss was.
Following the development of our new strategy to deepen the quality of SiMBA’s core services, we are seeking to appoint a Chair that will strengthen the leadership and expertise of our Board as the charity enters a new phase of growth and strategic ambition.
We are looking for an experienced leader who will work with our dynamic Board of Trustees in ensuring the effective performance of its governance responsibilities. The Chair will work closely with the CEO, providing support, guidance and strategic leadership to ensure charity activities achieve their ambition.
