What does the role involve?

Includem’s ADAPT team has been funded to research and pilot alternative support within the justice system across Scotland. The Community Justice Worker will be responsible for the scoping of opportunities by engaging with potential stakeholders, identifying, and contributing to learning, as well as direct delivery of whole family approaches, individual support and crisis led services to young people and families in the community and other settings.

With the ability to plan and work flexibly across projects as part of a team, you will understand and respond to the individualised needs to improve outcomes in line with GIRFEC principles, The Promise and Includem’s model of support. Main Duties and Responsibilities

The service provides support for children and young people aged 5 – 25 years (26 if care experienced) and their families in Dunfermline and South West Fife. The service will be delivered through outreach and be embedded within local communities.

What does the role involve?

Due to the likely nature of referrals being for young people with complex needs, candidates should be trauma informed and be able to evidence their skills and knowledge in this area. Main Duties and Responsibilities

The role focuses on building trusting relationships with young people to provide both emotional and practical support to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and to be connected positively to the local community. You will work in partnership with our partners in CAMHS primary mental health team and Our Minds Matters pupil support team. The service will be delivered through outreach and be embedded within local communities.

Duties include:

Each Support Workers will be responsible for:

  • Building quality relationships which support and empower children, young people, and families to develop and have ownership of interventions which improve their emotional health and wellbeing
  • Providing 1:1 targeted short-term mentoring and Whole Family support based around the strengths and needs of each young person and family. Support Workers will be allocated to support children, young people, and families with more complex needs.
  • Using a strengths-based approach to empower individuals facing adversity to find solutions and make positive changes, ensuring resources are in place to sustain these changes
  • Identifying appropriate group work sessions based around young people self-identified issues and work with community partners to develop and facilitate
  • Ensuring practice within 1:1 and groupwork is aligned with strengths principles is family centred and rights based.
  • Providing a whole family approach to consolidate change and provide the support the whole family needs for its members wellbeing
  • Understanding the different coping mechanisms that young people and their families use to deal with stress and high emotions, and to respond appropriately
  • Working collaboratively with children, young people and families, key stakeholders and external partners towards the achievement of shared goals and objectives.
  • Work directly with CAMHS early intervention team and Our Mind Matters Pupil Support Officers to improve wellbeing and increase engagement in school and specialist mental health support
  • Attend multi-agency meetings to support most complex cases
  • Utilising a range of approaches to improve relationships with family and peers including restorative practice and Solihull Approach
  • Supporting children and young people to build an individualised evaluation toolkit and regularly reviewing progress towards shared goals and objectives against assessment of wellbeing indicators

  • Responding to children, young people and families. and working in collaboration with others to ensure families have the required range of support they need through universal and statutory agencies.
  • Identifying universal/specialist supports and support children, young people and families to access and engage, providing practical support e.g. getting to appointments/groups and barrier reduction.
  • Taking direction from your team manager and participate in deployment to ensure time is used effectively to meet the needs of children, young people and families.

The Glasgow Intensive Family Support Services service works in collaboration with Glasgow Health and Care Partnership (HSCP) alongside other Third Sector organisations, with a co-located base within HSCP children’s services. Working within communities across the city using the voice, validation, hope model, a co-produced family engagement model, workers focus on strengths and assets with families and communities in order to bring about sustainable change to keep families together. Referrals come from social work for young people aged 12-18, however, with the focus being on whole family support, parents/carers, other family members and younger children within the family will also benefit from the support being provided.

What does the role involve?

This role will involve supporting children and young people who are in conflict with the law, using a trauma informed approach. The service currently takes referrals from Early and Effective Intervention, Diversion from Prosecution, Youth Court and Youth Justice Social Work teams. Knowledge and understanding of justice systems and the impact these can have on children, young people and their families would be beneficial.

Due to the likely nature of referrals being for young people with complex needs, candidates should be trauma informed and be able to evidence their skills and knowledge in this area. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate skills in establishing positive working relationships with children, young people, parents and carers in order to achieve outcomes, alongside demonstrating personal resilience in their own ability to cope with and manage the challenges this role may bring for them on a daily basis.

Keeping connected focuses specifically on providing 1:1 mentoring support and groupwork to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. As a support worker you will support children, young people aged 10 – 25 years, taking a whole family approach. You will work to a trauma informed and strengths-based approach and provide direct 1:1 support on a consistent basis and groupwork sessions. You will link with other community supports and opportunities and help children and young people to work towards their goals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The role focuses on building trusting relationships with young people to provide both emotional and practical support to promote positive mental health and wellbeing and to be connected positively to the local community. You will work in partnership with our partners in CAMHS primary mental health team and Our Minds Matters pupil support team. The service will be delivered through outreach and be embedded within local communities.

Each Wellbeing Community Support Workers will be responsible for:

  • Building quality relationships which support and empower children, young people, and families to develop and have ownership of interventions which improve their emotional health and wellbeing
  • Providing 1:1 targeted short-term mentoring and Whole Family support based around the strengths and needs of each young person and family. Support Workers will be allocated to support children, young people, and families with more complex needs.
  • Using a strengths-based approach to empower individuals facing adversity to find solutions and make positive changes, ensuring resources are in place to sustain these changes
  • Identifying appropriate group work sessions based around young people self-identified issues and work with community partners to develop and facilitate
  • Ensuring practice within 1:1 and groupwork is aligned with strengths principles is family centred and rights based.

What Does the Role Involve?

This is a varied role, and the successful candidate will support the charity by delivering an effective and efficient finance function. You will ensure that required information is produced accurately in a timeous fashion with impeccable attention to detail.

This is not a segmented role, and you will have exposure to the full finance function operations – from transactional processing and reconciliations, to assisting with the preparation of Management and Statutory Accounts and audit cycle.

Essential Criteria

• Qualifications or skills and experience at SCQF Level 7 or, have relevant skills and experience in a similar role

• Experience of working in the not-for-profit sector (preferred but not essential)

What does the role involve?

You will work as part of the Support Services Team to deliver high quality administrative support to the organisation, providing an effective and accurate service that will meet the needs and demands of the various functions within includem. The role requires you to be the first point of contact for the organisation including answering the Helpline available to the young people and families we support and directing these calls to the appropriate staff member. You will be expected to work independently and as part of a team both at home and in a busy office environment.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Answering the includem helpline and business phone lines in a polite and professional manner and directing these calls to the appropriate person.

Family Support Worker

What Does the Role Involve?

This is a highly varied role, and the successful candidate will support the organisational learning, development & training strategy. You will take ownership of the Induction process and be very involved in the On-Baording process. You will also enjoy scanning the horizon to capitalise on local, regional and national funding opportunities to further enhance the development of our entire team.

Liaising with all departments, you will gain an understanding of individual and functional development and training needs and assist in producing innovative ideas and initiatives that move the organisation forward in its learning culture, and adherence to sector compliance. Driving the learning & development initiative, further fostering our strong team culture, ensuring our people are knowledgeable and future-ready will be central to the role.

As the Learning & Development Co-ordinator you will be central for the successful delivery of the Learning & Development function’s core offering, ensuring that all targets and objectives are achieved. These programmes are focused on building capabilities and awareness in our people, alongside equipping them with the diverse skills to perform at their optimum. You will also support the Learning & Development Business Partner to develop and roll out the wider L&D strategy.

You will be responsible for the evaluation and review of programmes, to ensure that insights and measurement of progress highlight the impact of Learning & Development activities as well as informing the wider L&D strategy.

Essential Criteria

  • You will be educated to SCQF Level 6 or, have relevant skills and experience in Education and or Training.

What Does the Role Involve?

This is a highly varied role, and the successful candidate will support the organisational learning, development & training strategy. You will take an active role in assisting on tender and funding bids, scanning the horizon to capitalise on local, regional and national funding opportunities to further enhance the development of our entire team.

Liaising with all departments, you will gain an understanding of individual and functional development and training needs and produce innovative ideas and initiatives that move the organisation forward in its learning culture, and adherence to sector compliance. Driving the learning & development initiative, further fostering our strong team culture, ensuring our people are knowledgeable and future-ready will be central to the role.

As the Learning & Development Associate you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Learning & Development function’s core offering, ensuring that all targets and objectives are achieved.

These programmes are focused on building capabilities and awareness in our people, alongside equipping them with the diverse skills to perform at their optimum. You will also support the HR Manager to develop and roll out the wider L&D strategy.

You will be responsible for the robust evaluation and review of programmes, to ensure that insights and measurement of progress highlight the impact of Learning & Development activities as well as informing the wider L&D strategy.

You will partner and consult with Key stakeholders, including Senior Leadership Team and industry subject matter experts, to understand and identify, through learning needs analysis, learning and development requirements. The role will also be responsible for enabling and empowering participants to apply programme learnings to their work. A key focus of what you do will be around participant experience, and the use of excellent facilitation skills will be required.

Essential Criteria

  • You will be educated to SCQF Level 8 or, have relevant skills and experience in Education and or Training.
  • Proven track record of successful delivery in a similar role, ideally within comparable sector
  • An exceptional communicator with the ability and desire to work in a collaborative manner with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of identifying, developing and delivering end to end development materials and training staff
  • Strong experience of delivering consultative learning both one on one as well as with large groups either in person or remotely.
  • You should possess exceptional facilitation skills and be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels operating in a strong governance environment.
  • Exceptional influencing, communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to develop, deliver and present learning materials and objectives across all levels of the organisation
  • Experience of the welfare system relating to young people and families, legislative frameworks and social care/social policy requirements and how these can be addressed in terms of effective training to enhance overall performance
  • Ability to evidence personal drive, innovative style and commitment through learning and development with evaluation and impact of success

What does the role involve?

The Human Resources function at includem has undergone a period of significant change and we have redesigned the way we provide service to the business. This is an exciting time for us and an opportunity for an individual to join us as an HR Officer and help us deliver the new way of working, delivering a service which supports and encourages our team to provide the services for which we are renowned.

It would be ideal if you can demonstrate experience within an HR function, bringing a pragmatic and common-sense approach, as well as strong a customer centric attitude. You will be key in contributing towards the delivery of an effective recruitment service, and also in supporting several significant HR objectives.

You must be able to demonstrate experience of the following:

• Experience within a fast-paced Administrator role, ideally within a HR or professional services environment.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills – able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

• Exceptional organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.

• Proficient in the use of MS Office packages (or similar), confident in learning new applications/systems quickly.

• Production of ad-hoc reports.

What does the role involve?

You will deliver bespoke support to young people and their families in their own homes and communities. You will be responsible for all aspects of case management, including assessment and support planning. You will work with other professionals in the young person’s life to deliver positive, sustainable change. This is a key role within a small busy team.

All posts require individuals to:

  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of young people and their families
  • Be able to drive and have access to a car for work purposes
  • Develop safe, professional and committed relationships with young people and families
  • Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme (paid for by includem)
  • Use communication skills effectively to influence, record and evidence positive change and provide personalised, risk enabled, professional support
  • To be registered or become registered with Scottish Social Services Council and hold or be willing to work towards HNC Social Care and SVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent (qualifications are fully funded by includem)
