We are currently recruiting a unique individual with the expertise, time and commitment to join our Board and provide sound strategic guidance and leadership to help drive the charity forward. We are specifically interested in recruiting a Board Member with skills and expertise in relation to Fundraising and Health and Safety. You might be working within a high level fundraising or health and safety role and feel that you want to add to your skill set and get experience within a different sector.

It would be advantageous to have previous experience of being a Board Member or working closely with a Board. We are looking for Board members with experience of various organisations and sectors.

This is a busy role within our Enough! project that delivers support for young women experiencing domestic abuse in their own relationship. You will work with young women aged 13 to 21 years old, providing person centered therapeutic support. Many of our young women have complex needs including care leavers and young mums. You will support the young women by working alongside partner agencies to advocate for them to achieve the best possible outcomes. You will deliver a group work programme and will be part of the dedicated evening drop in for the service. Part of your role will be to raise awareness of domestic abuse among young women and deliver prevention work. You will manage referrals, waiting lists, support plans and case records.

It is essential that you have experience of providing support to young women who have experienced gendered based violence and that you have experience of providing 1-1 person centered support. Knowledge of the court system would be desirable. A suitable qualification relevant to working with children and young people, such as SVQ Level 3 Social Service (Children and Young People) is also essential. A large part of your job will involve liaising with our various teams and partner agencies.

This is our front line service and the first point of contact that women make with us. It is a very busy service and it is essential that candidates have experience of working in crisis situations and supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse. It is also essential that you come from a feminist analysis of domestic abuse and that you are committed to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid.

You will carry out minor DIY tasks yourself such as building flat pack furniture, fitting curtains and hanging pictures so that our properties are ready for families to move in. You will provide support where special cleans are required and ensure that there is adequate stock of everything we need to make refuge a home. This is a very busy role and the successful candidate will have great customer service skills and a proactive attitude. As we have several sites it is essential that you have a drivers license.
