We have casual working opportunities for Relief Practitioners across our services in Edinburgh.
What do we do?
Keymoves is our safe refuge for women 16+ who have experienced gender-based violence, including domestic abuse. While living at Keymoves, women can access 1:1 and group support that helps them recover from their experiences and feel empowered to move on to having their own home in a community.
Stopover is a supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25. Young people can get holistic support that will help them set up their own homes within a community and achieve their goals.
No. 20 provides supported accommodation to young women aged 16-25. Everyone gets their own keyworker, and together they design a bespoke support plan to help them successfully move on to a home within a community.
In MySpace, we provide 18 supported living flats for people aged 16-25 who have moved on from our supported accommodation.
Alongside our services, we have a social enterprise collecting furniture and other household goods. We use the donations to furnish our accommodation beautifully and also sell them to raise money for the services.

This service is commissioned by the City of Edinburgh Council in the South West of Edinburgh with the aim of preventing homelessness or to move on from homelessness. The role of Housing Support Practitioners will be to complete a holistic assessment with the person that produces a collaborative support plan with the aim to help people recognise their strengths which will build their confidence, self-efficacy, resilience, and motivation. Practitioners will use the Homelessness Star to develop this collaborative support plan that, alongside identifying areas of strength, addresses other areas of their lives people want to improve or change. We offer in-house training to all our staff on the use of the tool.

Alongside service delivery a key part of the role is to undertake research, stakeholder consultation and seek funding opportunities to develop Womanzone into a sustainable project into the future.
To deliver the programme and achieve the outcomes we set at Womanzone, the worker will support social work students on placement by acting as their link worker; they will recruit, train, and support women to become peer mentors and; they will recruit, induct, and support volunteers who are offering their skills to the project.

Our current income streams are generated through the commissioned services we provide for the council; lottery funding; and the unrestricted income generated from our social enterprise. We want the successful candidate to focus initially on securing funding for some large-scale projects and then advising the Leadership Team on a fundraising strategy that will best support our strategic plan.
Trust and Foundations will be a key focus but we’d also like to pursue a new focus on corporate fundraising and major donor programmes.

The role of Practitioner in our women's services is vital to help us achieve our aim of ensuring everyone has a home, a place in their community and a network of positive relationships that support them to build the life they want.
Practitioners recognise people’s strengths and work alongside them to build their confidence, self-efficacy, resilience, and motivation and help them feel safe and to heal from trauma they have experienced. Practitioners also support people to develop practical skills, maximise their income, develop healthier coping skills, problem solving skills, social skills, and employability skills that will assist them in creating the life they want.
This role will be within one of our women's accommodation services and will require shift working.

We work from a person-led, strength based and trauma informed approach to help people realise their goals, recover, connect with their communities and enjoy life.
This Housing Support service is commissioned by the City of Edinburgh Council in the South West of Edinburgh with the aim of preventing homelessness or to move on from homelessness. The People First project is funded by the National Lottery. Housing Support Practitioners will be to complete a holistic assessment with the person that produces a collaborative support plan with the aim to help people recognise their strengths which will build their confidence, self-efficacy, resilience, and motivation. Practitioners will use the Homelessness Star to develop this collaborative support plan that, alongside identifying areas of strength, addresses other areas of their lives people want to improve or change. We offer in-house training to all our staff on the use of the tool.

Following a restructure as a result of changes to our business during Covid-19, we are looking for a creative, dynamic store manager who can combine good people and business skills with an eye for design and an entrepreneurial approach. We want to make EFI a flagship for the re-use economy and build a sustainable social enterprise that will integrate and support the wider charity as we progress towards our vision of supporting everyone to have a home and their place in the community.
The right person is someone who has the vision and capacity to plan the service; set and meet targets; and motivate and support a varied staff team; and work in partnership with likeminded organisations.
The person appointed will also be joining at an exciting time where we are planning a move to a new store and a large-scale refurbishment programme at our storage warehouse.
