We are looking for a skilled and experienced Therapeutic Support Worker to help deliver our specialist support services for young people who have experienced sexual violence at any point in their lives.

Senior Therapeutic Support Worker – Young People’s Service (28 hours)
The post-holder will be responsible for line-managing and supervising staff and volunteers delivering ERCC’s Young People’s Service, the STAR project, which provide specialist counselling and support services, art psychotherapy, and advocacy as required, to young women, young men, non-binary young people and trans young people aged 12-18 who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including, rape, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual bullying and harassment, stalking, commercial sexual exploitation and organised abuse.

The FEM project is a partnership project with Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre, Forth Valley Rape Crisis Centre and Moray Rape Crisis Centre. The project is funded by the Tampon Tax fund to pilot an innovative, cross-region approach to increasing accessibility and inclusivity of rape crisis support for women survivors of sexual violence with learning difficulties and/or from BME communities across 7 local authority areas ranging from Central to North East Scotland

The post-holder will take an approach informed by an understanding of trauma (including complex trauma).
The post-holder will be responsible for delivering ERCC’s specialist therapeutic support and advocacy to Mandarin speaking women and all members of the trans community aged 16 and over in Edinburgh, Forth Valley ( including survivors living in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire) and Moray who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including, rape, sexual assault, child sexual abuse or commercial sexual exploitation. The post-holder will take an approach informed by an understanding of trauma, including complex trauma. The post-holder will be required to work across the different functions of the service including initial assessment, short and long term support and text/email support. The post-holder will be based in Edinburgh but must be able to travel weekly to Forth Valley Rape Crisis centre and occasionally to Moray Rape Crisis Centre. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.

The role will also include service development and joint working with statutory, third sector and community organisations.

We are looking for a Convener to lead ERCC’s Board of Directors to work alongside the Chief Executive Officer to deliver the organisation’s strategic plan and objectives.
You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have experience of leadership, strategic planning, people management, fundraising and charity finance management, and successful multi-agency partnership work.
You will have a clear understanding of and commitment to trauma-informed, feminist leadership, incorporating principles of anti-racism, trans inclusion, equality and anti-discriminatory practice.
Purpose of the post
The overall aim of this post is to provide support and advocacy to survivors who are engaged, or considering engaging, with the criminal justice system following an experience of sexual violence.
As COO of Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre you are accountable to the Chief Executive Officer and the Board of Directors. This role will be the deputy to the CEO and will contribute to the overall strategic management, leadership and development of the organisation and the implementation of the organisation’s strategy.
The role requires an experienced and effective feminist leader, with the ability to lead across both the strategic and operational work of ERCC.
