We are currently seeking an experienced Community Fundraiser to ensure all supporters in our community have an excellent experience of raising money for Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA), encouraging repeat support and motivating individuals to raise as much money as possible, leading to a legacy gift. The post holder will contribute to EWA’s fundraising targets by developing existing relationships and proactively researching, identifying and securing new community fundraising opportunities across Edinburgh. The Community Fundraiser will also steward supporters and groups within our community to deliver their own fundraising activities and deliver fundraising initiatives to engage with our local community including our annual Kiltwalk and our Christmas appeal.
This role will raise Edinburgh Women’s Aid profile within the community, initiating and building mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships to ensure long-term support. As we develop and nurture more relationships, and our fundraising success grows, we anticipate there will be a need for increased capacity within the fundraising team, which may result in additional hours being offered in the future.
The role of the 24HR Refuge Support Worker is to provide a safe, professional and supportive service for women and any accompanying children who have experienced or are at risk of domestic abuse, have additional support needs and are living in refuge accommodation provided by Edinburgh Women’s Aid (EWA).

The role of the Complex Needs Service (CNS) support worker is to work with the Senior support worker to ensure delivery of the complex needs service in line with funder requirements by delivering direct services and ensuring effective links and partnerships with mainstream and third sector addiction, criminal justice and mental health support services.
This post is open to hybrid working between office and home, if the candidate can evidence an appropriate environment for home working, ensuring confidentiality and privacy for service users making contact through telephone or online methods. Travel in Edinburgh to meet service users will be required as well.
As part of the Administration team, the Administration Assistant will work to ensure efficient and effective administrative support to the whole organisation, including reception support i.e. answering the office door, answering calls to the business line, and dealing with mail and deliveries to the office. The role requires the Administration Assistant to be present in the office, which is located in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh.
Since 1973, Edinburgh Women’s Aid has provided a safe and friendly place for women and children who are at risk of domestic abuse to turn to for support, information and refuge accommodation if required. Set up by women, for women, Edinburgh Women’s Aid is approaching 50 years of heroism, survivors, courage and support for children.
As part of the Women’s Aid network, they work diligently to change attitudes and the legal system. Edinburgh Women’s Aid campaigns tirelessly to bring the issues of domestic abuse from behind closed doors and have it recognised as a crime. Although attitudes are changing and domestic abuse is more openly acknowledged, there is still a long way to go as over 2,000 women and 150 children in Edinburgh alone used the services last year.
The charity is driven to develop a society free from domestic abuse and ensure women and children have the right to live their lives free from all forms of violence and abuse and any violation of this is a violation of the rights of women and children. They aim to achieve this through practical and emotional support, providing information and advice to women and any accompanying children, and through raising awareness of domestic abuse.
Edinburgh Women’s Aid funds its incredible work through a variety of revenue streams. All are important and valuable sources of income that allow the charity to provide its services and support those in need.
The Fundraising Manager at Edinburgh Women’s Aid will lead on the development and implementation of a fundraising strategy and contribute to annual planning with colleagues. They will research, identify funds and apply for appropriate funding as well as seeking funding to develop new areas of work that will enhance services to women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse. This post will manage the Community Fundraiser and is integral to the charities strategic plan and intention to become a sustainable organisation.
The successful candidate will be a skilled and experienced fundraiser who understands fundraising for a charity which provides frontline services. A proven track record of securing substantial amounts of income from a wide range of relevant funding sources will be advantageous. Fundamental to this role will be the ability to write successful funding bids and you should have demonstrable experience in this area alongside knowledge of the Scottish fundraising landscape. You must have experience in funder stewardship and developing a trusts and grants funding pipeline.
The Fundraising Manager will have the ability to identify and maintain external relationships with relevant funding bodies and experience of developing relationships with a broad range of funders at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential in this role. You must have a firm understanding of the causes and issues relating to domestic abuse and sexual violence and be able to communicate this and the need for Edinburgh Women’s Aid effectively to funders. Together with managing the Community Fundraiser, you will be responsible for raising both restricted and unrestricted income in line with annual targets. It is vital that you have excellent organisational and time management skills with a systematic approach to work and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

To provide safe, secure Refuge accommodation for women and any accompanying children who are at risk of domestic abuse. This role allows access to comprehensive domestic abuse training and has generous holiday allowance.
To build a peer support programme that will allow women who have experienced domestic abuse to support each other towards building lives free from abuse within a safe and supporting community. The role is for a full-time Peer Support Co-Ordinator who has lived experience as a service user of domestic abuse support services (EWA or other) and is now in a safe personal situation.

Edinburgh Woman’s Aid (EDDACS) provide support and advocacy for female victims of domestic abuse crimes which are going through the court system. The EDDACS team support clients by explaining the court process, the potential outcomes from the court and by completing risk assessment and an individualized support & safety plan with the client. EDDACS will prepare a report for all hearings to inform the court of risk and will keep clients informed of the court progress and outcomes. Job Purpose
To work with the CEDAR Children & Young People Co-ordinator to develop and manage a community group work programme (CEDAR Project) for children and young people and their mothers with experience of domestic abuse. The co-ordinator role is pivotal to the way in which CEDAR Groups are organised and facilitated.
You will work alongside the CEDAR Children & Young People’s Groups Co-ordinator to develop, manage and deliver the CEDAR 12-week community group work programme. This will include remote groups and face to face delivery.
Responsibilities include: overseeing and delivering the group work programme; managing referrals; scheduling and delivering groups and co-ordinating and providing support to co-facilitators. A significant proportion of time will be spent carrying out assessments with families to establish if the CEDAR programme is suitable for children. Assessment is a key element of the coordinator role and is a vital way in which mothers and their children are motivated to engage with their groups or supported to access more appropriate services. Coordinators will act as a single point of contact for both referrers and families.
