Role

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Senior Project Worker to join the team at our Kharis Court residential service for young people experiencing homelessness in West Lothian.

The project provides accommodation to young men and women in a four-bed communal living setting and also within single-supported flats. The project is located in Bathgate, West Lothian.

You will be involved in the day-to-day running of the unit, ensuring that a 24-hour warden service is in place through the working of shifts (including sleepovers & weekends). You will help to provide emotional and practical support to individuals, enabling them to learn independent living skills through support planning, assessments and key working as well as supporting staff as they work to support young vulnerable people. You will have a proven record in leading/supervising staff with excellent communication skills; you will have experience and knowledge of the service user group and their surrounding issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft office tools is essential. An SVQ 4 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a “Supervisor in a Housing Support Service” is desirable coupled with experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people.

Bethany Christian Centre is a supportive residential community for up to sixteen men living in a ‘dry’ house environment. In conjunction with housing support and addiction focused group work, one to one work and support from our addiction worker, we aim to provide vocational rehabilitation and specialised addiction support where requested.

Bethany Christian Centre is seeking an administrator, who will be responsible for undertaking administrative processes (including financial data and processes) and will support the management team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation for the Centre.

As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for delivering efficient and high-quality office administration and support. The role requires excellent telephone etiquette, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work proactively in a busy environment. Proven experience in administration and proficiency in Microsoft packages are essential for this position.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010. Applicants should have and be able to provide evidence of active Christian faith and commitment. Successful applicants for this post will require membership in the PVG scheme.
