As Trust and Grants Fundraisers, our job is to inspire grant-makers and trustees to support Bethany Christian Trust in our mission in ending homelessness in Scotland, one person at a time. We are looking for someone who is a talented storyteller, enthusiastic fundraiser, confident networker and dedicated researcher. As part of our team, you will design compelling funding applications, innovate new ways to connect with Trusts and Foundations, and steward vital income for our projects and services.

You will be part of our talented and multi-disciplinary Fundraising Team and be willing to support colleagues from Individual Giving, Communities and Events, and Marketing. Living our values, you will work with colleagues across the charity on funding applications and reports to develop income and enable our mission across Scotland.

You will be located in our head office at Bonnington Road in Leith, Edinburgh.

Bethany Christian Trust is a national charity working across Scotland to change the story of homelessness. We run 30 key services from Stornoway to Edinburgh, supporting over 7,000 people each year. From our fleet of Care Vans delivering a warm meal and a chat to people in need, to community employability drop-ins and supported housing, we are here to support individuals at any stage of their journey out of homelessness.

Project Worker, Bethany Christian Centre - Edinburgh

We are looking for a Project Worker to join our team at Bethany Christian Centre, a supported residential community for men who are homeless, providing assistance to individuals in their recovery from addiction.

As a Project Worker, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the residential unit, providing emotional and practical support to the residents in overcoming addiction, and enabling them to live independently through support planning, assessments and key working and delivering group-work sessions.

An excellent team player with great communication skills, you will have experience and knowledge of our service user group and their surrounding issues. Competence in the use of Microsoft Office tools is essential. SVQ 3 in Social Care or equivalent is desirable, coupled with experience in a Residential/Housing support setting. Lived experience of addiction and recovery, or experience of supporting someone through recovery, would be an advantage.

Successful applicants for this post will require membership of the PVG scheme.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment.

Recovery and Resettlement Worker - Glasgow

For over 10 years, Bethany Christian Trust have been delivering a community-based addiction recovery program in Scotland. As the demand for this service grows, we are looking for a candidate who will lead, develop and deliver Bethany’s Bridge to Freedom program within a group setting as well as supporting individuals on a 1-2-1 basis. A significant part of the role will also be to facilitate and develop recovery and resettlement work in partnership with churches and other organisations around Glasgow.

It is essential that you have experience in facilitating, planning and working with vulnerable people in a community setting. Experience developing new groups and building relationships with individuals and organisations is highly desired. A qualification in Social Work, Social Care, Community Education or related discipline is required, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification.
