The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering training courses/sessions to enable the EASE Project end users (AFTAR/CAB tenants of five partner Housing Associations, located throughout North Lanarkshire) to empower digitally excluded clients to claim online benefits, grants, offer IT sessions and employability sessions. The post- holder will have responsibility for planning group training sessions as well as one to one coaching sessions for the end users in their own home, or at community based venues or at partners’ premises. Learning will be evaluated through client user surveys and other feedback.
Owing to the flexible delivery nature of this project, a clean current driving licence and use of a car is required for this post.

We are looking for a client-focused individual with experience of providing welfare benefits advice, to join us as a Help to Claim Adviser (Universal Credit). In this role you will be using telephony and webchat to help /ensure our clients get the support they need face to face.
To succeed, you will need relevant experience and knowledge of the wider welfare benefit system including Universal Credit, demonstrating strong oral and written communication skills. It would be an advantage if you had recent experience and knowledge of undertaking welfare cases to appeal level if required. We are also looking for a proven ability to work effectively and well organised. Proficiency using a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems, online claims’ services and Microsoft Office applications is essential. Committed, results-driven and supportive to the needs of others, you work well within a team and are willing to follow and develop agreed procedures.
As Help to Claim Adviser (Universal Credit), you will deliver a holistic advice and support service aimed at clients on completing their initial Universal Credit claim, and to support them through to their first payment. This will involve helping with the online forms, the evidence required, and verifying their identity online using telephone and webchat.

Overview of Role
In Partnerships with Lanarkshire Housing Association (LHA) this Project will provide a single, trusted point of contact for vulnerable energy consumers across North Lanarkshire (Lanarkshire Housing Association, housing stock). Reducing fuel poverty and raising awareness of energy efficiencies, providing intensive support with lasting solutions. Putting an experienced energy advisor in Lanarkshire Housing Association premises as well as tenant’s homes, whilst offering accessible omni-channel support, expanding the provision of energy advice and advocacy services for Lanarkshire Housing Association (LHA) tenants.
Main focus will be on reducing spending on energy related costs, applying for various forms of financial assistance (Warm Home Discounts, vouchers, hardship Payments etc), challenging liability, writing off debts. Additional services will include provision of practical advice and guidance around energy efficiency, conducting home energy audits and practical assistance to fully understand differing heating systems.
The post holder will be responsible for providing an energy advice service for vulnerable tenants/residents of Lanarkshire Housing Association who are or in or at risk of fuel poverty. The project will be delivered by an experienced Energy Advisor with a wealth of knowledge and experience to service vulnerable tenants by assessing their eligibility and accessing relevant statutory and fuel industry initiatives including grants and allowances.

Increasing volunteering – CAB Network
Citizens Advice Bureau West Lothian, in partnership with Motherwell & Wishaw CAB have secured funding to “to develop a digital volunteer recruitment and training programme which can be implemented flexibly in partnership with bureaux across our network, maximising volunteer engagement while sharing resource and expertise”
This will be a 2 year project and will employ a full time Coordinator and 2 full time Training Officers to work with Bureaux across our network.

This is a new and exciting role for candidates who are highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a commitment to the CAB ethos and volunteerism. The post requires excellent organisational and communication skills and successful candidates will have experience of working and supporting volunteers and have experience of delivering training using virtual platforms to a wide range of audiences.

Motherwell & Wishaw CAB is looking for a highly motivated person with the drive and enthusiasm to provide tribunal representation in the area of Welfare Rights for the new North Lanarkshire CAB Tribunal Representation Unit. The Tribunal Representation project aims to provide a holistic service and increase the capacity for tribunal representation across North Lanarkshire through provision of direct representation, referrals to other organisations or second tier support to advisers.
The Welfare Rights Officer will provide tribunal representation at first tier tribunals to anyone seeking support during the benefit review or appeal process and prepare cases for upper tribunal. The work will predominantly involve tribunal representation but also occasional provision of support and advice to CAB and other agency advisers, delivery of training and marketing and contributing to social policy work.
The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of social welfare rights and a successful track record of working with office systems and procedures. They will have excellent teamwork, communication and organisational skills and be computer literate. They will have an understanding of the importance of excellent customer care, have a good awareness of how rights and advice issues impact on the local community and experience of tribunal representation.
The Money Talks Helpline Adviser worker will play a key role in the delivery of an innovative multi-channel financial health check service in the CAB network in Scotland. This project aims to improve access to and the efficiency of financial health checks for vulnerable families and older people. The financial health check workers are the first point of contact with clients who access the service through a dedicated helpline by phone or web chat.
