Richmond’s Hope is a child bereavement charity working with children and young people aged 4-18 who have experienced bereavement. Founded in 2003, our main base is in Richmond Craigmillar Church in Edinburgh, with a centre in Glasgow and we are about to open in Methil.

Role

This is an exciting time to join our organisation as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary. The role is a new one, so you have the opportunity to put your own stamp on it. The role is full time (38 hours), based in our Edinburgh office with regular travel to the other bases and satellites. The postholder will be responsible for smooth operating of the HR and Finance functions along with general admin and office duties.

Duties

• To take responsibility for the day-to-day administrative work of Richmond’s Hope.

• To maintain overall financial records of all income and expenditure and the administration of petty cash.

• To provide an HR function including, in the first instance, being responsible for salaries, annual leave, maternity leave and sick leave records.

• To maintain promotional and information leaflets and assist the Fundraising & Training Officer and the CEO in seeking out and developing funding arrangements to support the work of Richmond’s Hope.

• To travel regularly to bases in Glasgow and Fife.

• To attend Staff and Team meetings as required.

• To report to the Board as required, normally through the CEO.

• To carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the CEO.

Person Specification

• Experience in an administrative, financial, HR or other relevant role

• Proficient in IT including experience of using Word, Excel and database systems.

• Experience of the management of payroll and pensions

• Experience of budget development and reporting against budgets

• Ability to produce clear and accurate reports

• Excellent team working skills with evidence of the ability to work using own initiative

Richmond’s Hope provides support for children and young people aged 4-18 who have experienced bereavement. We are looking for an experienced Team Leader who will direct our Bereavement Support Workers (BSWs) and support them in their work.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of working with children and young people and of building and leading a team. We are looking for someone who has good understanding and experience of the therapeutic benefits of play and either experience of working with bereaved children or skills that are transferable to bereavement support.

Richmond’s Hope will provide a comprehensive induction programme which will include training in the methodology of Richmond’s Hope. As Team Leader (Bereavement Support) you will carry out supervision, support and training for our Bereavement Support Workers based across Central Scotland. Working as part of the Management Team of Richmond’s Hope you will be responsible for building the team, supporting and enabling BSWs in the work with bereaved children. You may also carry a small caseload of children seeking support.

As the successful candidate for this position you will have significant experience of fundraising and writing grant applications.
