Committed to Ending Abuse (CEA), formerly Falkirk & District Women’s Aid, is seeking to recruit a full-time Independent Domestic Abuse Advocate (IDAA). CEA Ltd operates an integrated three-stage trauma recovery model and whilst all staff are expected to work across these areas, the particular focus of this post is Stage One Crisis Recovery. The purpose of which is to keep everyone safe, free from further serious harm/homicide and to enable recovery from Trauma.

The purpose of this post is to provide an independent advocacy service to everyone who have experienced domestic abuse and are assessed to be at very high risk and possibly at risk of repeat victimisation and have therefore been referred to the MARAC (Multi-agency Risk Assessment Conference).

The post holder will work directly with clients, in conjunction with MARAC colleagues, on a short to medium term basis. They will also formally advocate for individuals within professional advocacy settings providing a true reflection of the views and wishes of the clients they represent to ensure a coordinated community response.

The postholder will also carry a caseload of those clients who are at high risk but not currently within the formal MARAC process.

Key to the role will be supporting individuals in their initial crisis for an intensive time limited period and providing safety planning, practical, emotional, and signposting support.

The post will commence as soon as possible. The post holder will require successful reference checks, enhanced PVG checks and will be expected to work closely with partner agencies. This post is currently funded until September 2029. This post will be working from CEA Offices.

As part of our ongoing service development, we are seeking to recruit an experienced and compassionate Crisis Support Worker to join our dedicated Crisis Intervention Team.

The Crisis Support Worker will provide responsive, time-limited crisis intervention and support to individuals who are experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse across the Falkirk area.

Working within a trauma-informed, person-centered and strengths-based approach, the successful candidate will undertake structured risk assessment and safety planning, provide emotional and practical support, advocacy and case management, and work closely with statutory and third-sector partner agencies to reduce risk and support positive outcomes.

The role requires an understanding of the dynamics and impact of domestic abuse, including coercive and controlling behaviour, the barriers survivors may face when seeking support, and the importance of recognising and building upon survivors' existing strengths and protective strategies.

CEA supports women, children, young people and, where appropriate, men affected by domestic abuse. We welcome applications from candidates who have experience of supporting people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.

We are looking for someone who can work confidently and sensitively with individuals experiencing crisis and complex circumstances, while promoting safety, informed choice, dignity, independence and recovery.

Applicants should have relevant experience within domestic abuse, gender-based violence, social care, community support or a related field. Experience of structured domestic abuse risk assessment, safety planning, multi-agency working and trauma-informed practice would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake appropriate Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme checks.

This role may involve outreach and community-based work across the Falkirk area. Applicants must therefore be able to travel as required to fulfil the duties of the post.
