About this role

We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused Community Fundraiser to help grow income and strengthen relationships across our local communities.

You’ll play a key role in delivering our busy collection can programme (circa 950 sites), supporting supporter-led fundraising, and building meaningful connections with individuals, groups, and businesses. From managing collection routes and volunteers to developing new opportunities and representing the hospice at events, all whilst stewarding our supporters. This is a varied and hands-on role at the heart of our community.

Working as part of our Income Generation team, you’ll contribute to delivering sustainable income growth while championing the hospice’s mission and impact.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing and growing our collection can network, including banking, reporting, and performance tracking
  • Building strong relationships with local businesses, community groups, and supporters
  • Supporting community fundraising activities, including bucket collections and events
  • Engaging supporters and helping them maximise their fundraising
  • Identifying new opportunities to increase income and awareness
  • Working collaboratively across teams and with volunteers
  • Representing the hospice in the community and through digital channels

What we’re looking for

  • Strong relationship-building skills with a warm, empathetic approach
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Confident communicator - both written and verbal
  • A positive, “can-do” attitude with the ability to use your initiative
  • Ability to adapt your communication style to connect with a range of audiences
  • Calm and focused in a busy and ever-changing environment
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A full UK drivers licence (a hospice vehicle is available for use)

What you can expect from us

  • A warm and supportive working environment
  • Generous annual leave entitlement
  • Structured induction programme
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working practices
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
