Established since 2007, RASAC P&K has are committed to challenging gender-based violence and recognise that sexual violence is both a cause and consequence of gender inequality in our society. We offer free and confidential support to anyone who identifies as a woman and all young people age 12-18 years, who has experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. We offer support regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, transgender identity, age, disability, and religious and cultural background. RASAC P&K Prevention Services work with young people across Perth & Kinross delivering sexual violence prevention workshops in schools and community settings, as well as delivering a range of community engagement and development opportunities within the wider community.

The Role

Are you a compassionate, motivated, and experienced leader ready to lead a dedicated team delivering vital support and advocacy services for survivors of sexual violence at RASAC P&K?

What we’re looking for…

As part of the management team, you will lead a team of therapeutic support and advocacy workers, ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality, safe, survivor-centred services grounded in a feminist approach. Working alongside another Support Services Team Leader, you will take responsibility for team performance, setting clear expectations and supporting staff to achieve their outcomes, while actively encouraging resilience, independence and promoting wellbeing within a demanding area of work. You will oversee service productivity to meet funding requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding and trauma informed practice. The role also involves identifying gaps and making continuous service improvements, whilst promoting and supporting the development of responsive, effective services that meet the varying and evolving needs of survivors.

You should have a consistent and reliable work ethic, and be comfortable working within a culture that values respect, integrity, and innovation. The role also requires a willingness to reflect, appropriately challenge both yourself and others, and actively share knowledge and learning with colleagues.

This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, offering opportunities to grow your leadership skills and deepen your understanding of the needs of young people, families, and adult survivors of sexual violence.

Full induction, including training across a broad range of relevant areas, such as Boundaries and Confidentiality, Support Skills, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Suicide and Self-harm, Feminism and Gender Based Violence and Commercial Sexual Exploitation.

Access to specific management training in areas required/identified

Paid monthly external supervision, as well as monthly supervision with line manager.

Competitive salary £36756 (Pro Rata)

Generous annual leave of 42 days per year pro-rata (inclusive of public holidays).

Off-street Parking (on rota basis).

Who we’re looking for…

Are you passionate about helping young people identify their goals and make positive changes in their lives? Do you have experience supporting others?

We are seeking a motivated and committed Young People and Families Therapeutic Support Worker to join our friendly, dedicated team, this role is primarily working with young people aged 12-24, however there will be some work with adult survivors and family members too.

At RASAC, we take a whole-person approach. This means the role is varied and may involve supporting young survivors who experience challenges with trust, self-esteem, self-care, relationships, or education. Some may also use self-harm or substances as coping strategies. Because of this, we’re looking for someone who is kind, empathetic, and non-judgmental, while also confident in maintaining safe boundaries and adapting their approach to meet the individual needs of each young person.

Most work will take place in our busy centre close to the town centre, however support is provided in schools, GP surgeries and other public locations across Perth and Kinross, therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is a requirement of this post.

Please note we are currently trialling a 4-day week for full time workers, should this not be continued the 35 hours would revert to being worked across 5 days Mon-Fri, with occasional out of hours work.

The Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre Perth & Kinross are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated worker with a proven track record of providing therapeutic support to young people affected by trauma. Providing therapeutic support, information and advocacy services, this role will involve responding to the needs of young survivors of sexual abuse and their families. The post holder will be expected to have a creative and needs-led approach throughout their practice.

Experience of delivering one to one support is essential alongside experience of assessing and responding to risk. An ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders is necessary as we are looking for someone who will value partnership working and is proactive in sensitively working alongside others to best meet the needs of young survivors and their families.
