Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT) is a Charity and Building Preservation Trust (BPT) with almost 50 years’ experience saving derelict and redundant buildings throughout the whole of Scotland. We strive to be dynamic and innovative in our approach, constantly seeking new ways to solve the myriad challenges which our historic built environment faces, as well as seizing the many (and more numerous) opportunities offered in an ever-changing world to make heritage relevant. Our Projects team are at the forefront of our activities.
The Project Officer role is a key part of our team, assisting with the delivery of high-quality conservation and restoration projects on behalf of the Trust by deploying best practice in the adaptive re-use of old buildings. As Project Officer, you will be responsible for the Trust’s activities in Edinburgh & the Lothians. Working with the Project Managers, you will help co-ordinate our project at the Tron Kirk, Edinburgh – one of the city’s most iconic historic buildings – and support a range of consultancy projects working with community organisations, development trusts, and local authorities.
About Scottish Historic Buildings Trust
Scottish Historic Buildings Trust is a Charity and Building Preservation Trust with over 40 years’ experience saving derelict and redundant buildings throughout the whole of Scotland. Everyone has driven or walked past a forlorn and unloved historic building at some time. You may have wondered why it isn’t being used or why doesn’t someone do something with it? The answer is often complex and the solutions equally so. It takes a special group of people to identify a way forward and restore these buildings to the benefit of the community.
Diversity
Scottish Historic Buildings Trust values the contribution of all our staff, whatever their background. Our recruitment decisions are based on fair, open processes, with appointment on merit. We welcome applications from everyone.
