Money & Home Energy Adviser

Are you a customer- focussed individual who is self-motivated, keen to develop and learn, and who is passionate about achieving the best possible outcomes for our tenants and sharing owners? If so, we want to hear from you as we have an exciting new opportunity for a Money & Home Energy Adviser.

Working closely with our Housing Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality Money & Home Energy Advice service to our tenants and sharing owners, with the aim of sustaining tenancies, managing debts and reducing fuel poverty.

You will be expected to form productive, professional relationships with tenants and external agencies and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will have experience of providing services, sometimes in stressful situations and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. You will hold a relevant qualification in money advice and have a proven track record of providing this. Ideally, you will also have experience in dealing with fuel poverty debt and hold a relevant energy advice qualification too, though training can be provided.

You must work well within a team but also be happy to use your own initiative. The ability to work accurately under pressure, keep excellent records and to prioritise work and meet deadlines is essential.

East Lothian Housing Association is a forward thinking social landlord established in 1988 and manages around 1350 affordable homes in East Lothian. We continue to develop new homes to improve the housing supply in our communities and currently building 29 homes in Dunbar. We have a strong focus on customer service, including leading the way in bringing digital services to tenants.

As a Management Committee Member at elha, you will play a key part in supporting and enabling the ongoing growth of the organisation as a Registered Social Landlord, continuing to develop new homes, encouraging sustainable rural communities, addressing economic challenges and improving energy efficiency.

We pride ourselves on our progressive service provision and have been recognised for many years now across the UK for our sector leading digital services. We continue to break new ground in digitally enabling our tenants to access services from home, work or when on the move. Through our subsidiary R3, we provide maintenance services to elha, other social landlords and private and commercial clients.
