To achieve their mission they are looking for maternity cover for their Fundraising and Engagement Administrator role – a crucial role providing a solid foundation of support to the whole Fundraising team.
The Fundraising and Engagement Administrator will join Sight Scotland at an exciting stage, with a newly formed Cause and Engagement team, a new organisational strategy and direction, and a roadmap for fundraising planned. The charity is recruiting for 5 other fundraising roles alongside this maternity cover.
This role provides vital administrative support to the fundraising function. You will perform a variety of tasks ranging from regular banking, data entry and the opening of fundraising post to more ad-hoc tasks such as handling supporter enquiries and working with the fundraising team to support their calendar of activities and key priorities. This role would suit someone who is competent with handling data, and perhaps has experience using a database, but who is equally happy delivering amazing supporter experiences / customer service and speaking to colleagues and supporters face to face, on the phone and via email.

This role gets to see the full spectrum of what Sight Scotland’s amazing supporters do for the charity. You will spend time out and about meeting supporters across Scotland, understanding their fundraising goals and supporting them to achieve and surpass them. You will engage with community groups, speak at schools and workplaces, recruit and manage volunteers and support the delivery of fundraising events.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships with people across a wide spectrum of age, background, disability, and motivation. You would need to be enthusiastic, proactive and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A willingness to travel is a must as you will need to be out from behind a desk to build those all important relationships. There will be some evening and weekend work (for which TOIL is provided), so flexibility is key.

This role is responsible for developing and creating engaging digital content and for managing Sight Scotland’s social media channels. This role requires a mix of creativity, digital storytelling and a passion for social media in the charity sector. The role will enhance Sight Scotland’s online presence and engage their audiences, inspiring people to donate, take part in sponsored events and online campaign actions as well as contacting the charities for support with sight loss.
It is important that the successful candidate for this role has existing experience of working within a charity/fundraising environment. This post holder will curate, creates and manage digital content for fundraising purposes at Sight Scotland. The role will introduce and test new, innovative digital products and tools that build audience engagement, supports fundraising and campaigning goals and encourages people living with sight loss to contact the charities for support. The role will also manage Sight Scotland’s website and email marketing.
This is the first role of its kind at Sight Scotland. There is a world of opportunity we want this role to explore, and there is budgetary support to test and trial new ideas.

The Fundraising Manager – Legacies and Individual Giving is responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise income from individual donors and legacy gifts. This is achieved through innovative campaigns that grow our supporter base, drive donations, legacy pledges and gifts as well as strengthening our brand.
The post holder manages external agencies specialising in individual giving and legacies and leads on our donor communication and engagement programme. The role supports the organisation’s purpose to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with visual impairment in Scotland by maximising fundraising income to deliver brilliant services and create a positive impact on our ability to deliver for the long term.
This role would suit someone who is already operating at a senior fundraiser or manager level, with significant experience of individual giving especially as we see so much potential there. This role lines manages the Supporter Fundraiser (covering community and events) and the Fundraising and Engagement Administrator, so it is a great opportunity to broaden understanding and experience of leading other income streams.
