At Tiphereth-Camphill in Edinburgh we are seeking a Full-Time Co-Worker to support adults with learning disabilities and autism who live within our Supported Living Service, grow their independence and be part of our vibrant community.
We are a Camphill community based on the edge of the Pentland hills in Edinburgh supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism in a range of day services, supported living, residential care, and social enterprises.
Previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential. What is most important if that you have a real desire to support people to maximise their independence, have a belief in supporting people to make their choices and to do the things they want to do. The post will involve supporting personal care and safe people handling, experience of which would be desirable. For this post, ability to drive will be essential, as driving member’s car will be required.

At Tiphereth we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Day Service Co-Worker in our Pentland Group. The post is available on either a part-time or full-time basis. The part-time option is minimum of three days, comprising Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Additional days are available.
Tiphereth is a Camphill community in Edinburgh, comprising a number of different workshops within its day service.
This post is based in the Pentland group which carries out woodwork, green woodwork, basketry and ground maintenance. Together with our members with learning disabilities we aim to produce unique items for our annual fairs and for our community.
You will provide support and motivation to people with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful work within the group. You will be enthusiastic and positive about the potential of people to participate, learn and grow. You will bring experience and knowledge of woodworking, and preferably, experience of supporting individuals. You need to work well as part of a team, have good communication skills and be motivated by Camphill’s values and ethos.
We are looking for an individual who has experience in woodwork and can lead individuals and small groups through the creative process. An engagement with, and knowledge of, wood as a material is desired!

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the efficient running of one of Tiphereth’s registered Care Homes for adults with learning disabilities and Autism. Our unique Camphill community setting means that the Care Home, is home to both residents and volunteers. This is a live out post although on occasions some sleepovers may be required.
Providing hands on support to residents and leadership for volunteers you will both contribute towards, and champion, the vision the Managers have for the home life for everyone who lives there.
The role is varied and there is a need to balance the day-to-day home life in a Camphill community, alongside delivering an outstanding care service. Administrative support for residents and of the care home’s registration is required. It includes maintaining resident’s records, coordinating, and supporting meetings and reviews, recording finances, and managing medical appointments and medication. Support and supervision to volunteers in developing as outstanding care providers, managing inductions and ongoing training, and coordination of rotas are core tasks which maintain the smooth running of the home. General cleaning and facility management, maintaining stock of household essentials and ensuring health and safety compliance are also key components of the role.
