The ALLIANCE is excited to be recruiting a new member to join our team in Glasgow within the Stronger Schools, Stronger Communities pilot project.

Based in a school in Northeast area of Glasgow, with some meetings/events carried out in the local community/across Glasgow, the Schools Community Links Practitioner will provide tailored, non‑stigmatising support and improve access to energy advice and services, including carbon monoxide (CO) awareness, priority services registration, CO alarms, advocacy, and safeguarding. By offering a safe and trusted space within the school, the project aims to reduce fuel poverty and strengthen connections to essential energy and wider support services for families.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience at delivering advice to a wide range of people and families and be familiar with benefit entitlements/income maximisation as well as showing empathy and understanding of the issues faced by our customers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the environmental, social and economic problems of deprived areas and the roles of the public, private and voluntary sectors in tackling them.
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the provision of advice to low-

income households in energy efficiency or related fields.

  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • The ability to work with a wide range of people and proven experience of working with vulnerable householders, low income and/or other disadvantaged groups, including a strong understanding of the challenges faced by people living in areas of deprivation in relation to living well.
  • Tact and diplomacy when liaising with a wide range of organisations.

The ALLIANCE is excited to be recruiting new members to join our Community Links Practitioner team that will be based in Glasgow.

There are two part-time posts available, 21 hours per week and one full-time 35 hours per week maternity cover post.

As part of the Links Programme, you will provide a person-centred service that is responsive to the needs and interests of people living in areas affected by socio-economic deprivation. You will support people to identify issues that affect their ability to live well. The post-holder will work collaboratively with individuals to support them through decision making processes and help them decide upon the issues that they would like to address; helping them overcome any barriers to addressing these.

Using service improvement methodology, the Community Links Practitioner will support the existing primary care team to adopt a links approach.

They will support staff in becoming skilled in identifying local services and matching They will support existing staff in becoming skilled in identifying local services and matching them to the needs of individual people. Typical examples include social or lunch clubs, self-help groups, befriending organisations, hobby clubs (such as gardening clubs) and employment or voluntary-work agencies.

The Community Links Practitioner will identify community resources and facilitate relationships between these resources and the practice for the benefit of the patient. They will also build relationships and processes with statutory organisations, health services and voluntary organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, Money Advice Service, NHS services and charities.

The aim of the Links Practitioner Programme is to support people to live well through strengthening connections between community resources and primary care in deprived areas in Scotland.

The successful candidate must have:

This role requires the postholder to play a key role in developing and leading Scotland Reducing Gambling Harm Lived Experience Forum. The role will contribute to a wider portfolio with an emphasis on the voice of lived experience, person-centredness and human rights. The postholder will operate within the broader landscape of Scottish Government health and social care reform and relevant UK Government strategies, ensuring that activity is aligned, collaborative and effectively delivered.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent through experience
  • Experience of engaging with people in interactive and creative ways
  • Experience of facilitating safe, trauma-informed, human rights based spaces
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills with experience of building and sustaining relationships with people who have experience of gambling harm or substance use or mental health or relevant community learning work
