Scottish Environment LINK is currently seeking a Development Manager on a part-time basis, (21 hours per week). This role would suit an all-rounder with at least 5 years’ development or fundraising experience who has a keen eye for detail, an ability to identify hooks and use inspiring written and verbal communication to build and maintain strong relationships with members, funders and stakeholders. This role will support the Chief Officer and coordinate and collaborate with staff at all levels to deliver effective development strategies across the organisation.

Terms and conditions

This is a part-time contract for 21 hours a week, subject to a six-month probation. Salary is between £34,000 to 38,000, pro rata per annum, depending on skills and experience. LINK makes an employer contribution to employee personal pensions of up to a maximum of 12% of basic salary, complementing employee contributions. The pro rata leave quota is based on 25 days' annual leave and 10 public holidays per annum. The appointee may work the hours over shorter workdays Monday to Friday, or over, less longer work. On occasion it may be necessary to work evenings or parts of weekends, for which time off in lieu will be granted. All approved expenses will be reimbursed.

Background to the Current Opportunity

This opportunity is a maternity cover for the current Finance and Operations Manager. Reporting directly to the Chief Officer, the role is to be ultimately responsible for managing the financial administration of the organisation.

The Finance and Operations Manager provides effective support for the organisation in all aspects of finance ensuring that the function always runs smoothly. The successful candidate will have ultimate responsibility for the integrity of all financial records and accounting to include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, expenses, cash, bank, journals, accruals/prepayments leading to financial reports.

They will also be responsible for driving all aspects of back-office operations to include: managing offices, coordinating the interface with IT support firm and supporting governance operations.

This is a creative and fast-paced role where you will be using your creativity and drive to produce exciting and engaging communications on the issues that matter to LINK’s members. We work towards putting environment at the heart of society, benefiting people, communities, and the planet. The role creates content and coordinates LINK’s digital media and communications activities, crafting effective messaging that supports our advocacy work and contributes to effective policy and decision-making for an environmentally sustainable future. You will work closely with the Campaigns Coordinator and Advocacy Manager at LINK and with LINK’s work groups to build a stronger and louder voice for Scotland’s environment.

With experience of digital communication development and delivery, across multiple channels from social media to broadcast, you will develop content that staff and members can use in their everyday work. We are looking for you! We are seeking a new Agriculture Advocacy Officer on a fixed term initially for 20 months, part-time basis, (21 hours per week). We are looking for a dynamic and resourceful individual, with some experience in advocacy and an understanding of the agricultural sector in Scotland. This is a varied and interesting role where you will be supporting LINK’s new campaign, Farm for Scotland’s Future, producing advocacy briefings, and supporting LINK’s Food and Farming Group. This is a fun role, with potential to learn and grow within LINK’s small team and offers the opportunity to work closely with other environmental NGOs, all working towards the protection and restoration of nature.

This role would suit anyone with experience in advocacy and policy work and with understanding of the environment and agricultural sectors in Scotland. Someone who is energetic, with an eye for detail and excellent communication skills. This role works with eNGO members of LINK’s Food and farming Group and LINK staff. It also reaches out to other LINK Groups whose work is impacted by agricultural practice in Scotland.

We are seeking an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer for an exciting, ambitious new project, “Nature for All.” Within the life of the project, we will be supporting LINK members to build the representation and engagement of under-represented sections of the community into the environment sector to bring about systemic change. LINK is the forum for 44 Scottish environmental NGOs, who work together to connect and restore Scotland’s environment and builds its resilience for today and future generations. This key post will co-ordinate and provide specialist support and training to our members on pathways to inclusion.

Experienced in this field of work and ideally with experience in advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives within a complex network structure, this role suits an all-rounder with highly developed project management, administration and training skills, high emotional intelligence & empathy and able to navigate sensitive issues.
